Have you ever made a decision you later regretted? It can be a horrible feeling. I spent (wasted) a ton of money keeping my car and stuff in WA state for over a year, then decided to have the car shipped and ended up having to get rid of almost all my stuff. It wasn't particularly expensive stuff, but still. I'm bummed about that and also worried about my car because it's in a stranger's hands. I wish I had just driven it back to Ohio when I decided to move here to work for my parents last year. I'm having such a tough time letting this go for some reason. My parents say I did the right thing because driving it myself would be hard, and it probably would have been; but I would have saved over $600 and been able to keep a lot more stuff (you can put up to 100 lbs in the trunk when you ship a car, but nothing visible.) In the end I have to tell myself it's just stuff and money, both of which can be replaced. Hopefully my car makes it here safe and sound. Please share your regret stories!!!
Have you ever regretted something?

No. I think we learn from our mistakes and that our decisions make us who we are. I like where I am in life. Well, most of the time I do anyhow. I may have problems, but perhaps those problems would be worse if I'd have made different decisions. Maybe I wouldn't have my husband or son. I wouldn't trade any past decisions for what I have now.

who hasnt, but you live u learn

Marrying my ex-husband. Sure, I learned a hell of a lot about myself, but it still sucked. I'm fifteen years behind everyone else in my circle because of being engaged, married, and divorcing him, and my dating skills are nonexistent (like, not taking anything men say seriously). This is terrifying in my mid-30's because I don't have any room to make mistakes like I would have earlier in my life; it makes me more bitter than I should be. :-/

We all make mistakes. It's how you use that information that matters

I pity anyone who does not have MANY regret stories. It means they never "took a chance" or "went on a hunch". They always played it "too safe". What a boring way to live.

EXACTLY. Well put. Regret is like FAILURE. Speak to ANY successful person and they have a BOOK of failures to look back on. It is BECAUSE they took chance and failed that they ended up a success. Failure to TRY leads to permanent lack of regret, and permanent lack of success!!!!

Yes, I've regretted a decision

Sometimes I feel as though I have made a bad decision, but I don't regret decisions because everything happens for a reason.

A year and a half ago, my boyfriend at the time broke up with me to sleep with other girls. My best friend, whom I'd been in love with for a year and a half at that point, was there to catch me. Turns out, he was in love with me too. I was really really hurt by the break up, so I didn't want to make him feel like a rebound. Even after helping me through all the hurt, I still chose to take my ex back over him. It was devastating to my best friend. I spent another year with my boyfriend in misery, and all I can think about, to this day, is how stupid I was, and how I blew probably my only chance to be with an amazing guy, all over my asshole ex boyfriend.

Yes, I've regretting things. Don't ask me the best way to cope with it.

i've regretted lot of things.

I've done quite a few things (or not done) and regretted it. Either I'm able to let go in time or just try to forget about it.

Other - I rarely have regrets - but it happens. I just learn from it and move on. Rehashing and second guessing is wasted energy.

Yes, and I'll let you know once I'm actually coping with it.
10/01/2012
Struggle with coping myself. I usually just apologize a lot.
10/01/2012
All the time. I just try to remind myself that I've learned from my mistakes and not dwell on them.
10/01/2012
Only a few times. I go back and think what if? or I shouldn't have.......
10/01/2012
I regret too many things to name, and to be perfectly honest, I am not very good at coping with anything. It takes me years to barely get over some of the smallest offenses toward me.
10/01/2012
I regret only one thing. I learn from my mistakes and do not consider them regrets. My only regret is not answering the phone the three times my good friend called me one day. I found out that night he committed suicide. So yes, I do regret that and it's not a "live and learn" kind of regret.

There are many things I regret--mostly how my actions affected others around me--not the actions themselves.
By the way--I know this does not help right now, but uship.com is an online bidding site for shipping. My hubby and I pick up loads and dro[ them off when we go get bikes to fix up.....pays for the gas and helps others out as well.

i did a year of school in a subject i decided not to pursue further, and i do deeply regret this because school is expensive and it is frustrating to waste time and credits.

I would be truly shocked if anyone has NEVER felt regret.
10/06/2012
The past is the past and there is nothing you can do about it! Why waste time feeling bad for the things you've done? Just learn to life with the choices you've made and hope that you don't make them again.
10/06/2012
there's things i wish i had done differently, but i would never go back and change them. i'm either too lazy or i have no regrets ;D
06/06/2013
I actively try not to regret things. Instead I learn from them. Nothing is a waste, so why regret it.
06/06/2013
I have a list of things I regret that occasionally come back to haunt me but its part of life to learn from those decisions and move on. Sure I went through the heart break and sleepless nights but we all handle situations in our own special ways. After almost 60 years of living you learn to move on and accept the decisions of your past and make the most of them from here on in.
