Full disclosure: I have been flagged.

Yes I have been flagged, but I was not in trouble, since my post was not offensive. I have flagged many comments on reviews, I will also start flagging comments on product pages, and I flag spam comments on the forum. I flag things that are spam mostly. I have been noticing that comments on my reviews have turned to and I find that to be spam! I also have noticed that there are those commenting on the product page like so, adfagf. All they are doing is hitting as many buttons as they can for points. I rarely flag a comment on the forum, unless it is really offensive or it most definitely spam.

I agree. I see a lot of random fgh comments on a product and I was wondering what that was. Like an abbreviation I didn't know about like lol or yolo but I guess it's probably just spam.

It's important to remember that when you flag a post/comment, the forum mod gets a message about it. So, if you find something going on that you're not sure about, make sure you shoot me a message first. It's possible that the person is new and not up on how we roll at EdenFantasys.

A new contributor might come on and think our forums run like Facebook or something - post early, post often. But, because of EdenPoints, this can lead to people flagging new contributors as "point farmers", when they're just new.

So, if you see anything unusual or out of the norm, don't be afraid to send me a message first. I can look into and make the decision if they're point farming or not.

I haven't flagged anything, but have noticed some that needed to be flagged. I am too concerned with the person being new and not knowing what to do to actually flag the items.

I haven't flagged anything or been flagged. I'd like to flag something the other day when I saw someone just post nice review here on the forums on more than one thread. Like it had been CTRL-V'd or something. I made a comment that this was the forums not a review.

I haven't flagged anyone, but if I were to see a "asdafasfasdf" anywhere on the site I would flag it.

I don't have to because they're usually flagged by someone else already, and one flag is enough to get Admin's attention.

I have been flagged myself as well. I did not think it was bad, but I guess someone did. Oh well you live and you learn I know what mines was for.

One to five, maybe, in my entire time being here. I do not flag too often, I reserve it for when people REALLY need to be. Other times, I deal with things like an adult. We're all adults here, our panties shouldn't be ruffled THAT easily.

I have never flagged anyone. I'll reserve flags for really serious stuff. I'd be more likely to call the 24 hours rule if a forum is really just getting too heated and people seem to be missing the point. However, I have seen the 24 hour rule called and people kept going, I'm not sure a lot of Edenites know what the rule is. It is important that we all read the Expectations that are set out by Admin. Even people who flag can be in trouble if they flag in a way that the moderators find inappropriate.

Generally though, if I don't agree with what's going on in a thread? I just leave.

I used to flag more often but now I just take any issues I have to my main man, JR. Or I take care of it myself. Like, if I see a newbie posting a lot of useless threads, I'll send them a friendly message letting them know that comments should be placed on the product page and that questions can be answered by reading reviews. Things like that. And if they're posting in the wrong thread, I'll tell them where their threads SHOULD have gone and give them the link to forums so they can find an appropriate forum for future threads. Sometimes, they ignore me or just don't know how to get their messages but most of the time, the newbie thanks me and changes their ways. That makes me happy.

What if it's a thread called "jklsjglkg" and the "discussion" is "ryiperipy"? Lol.

I'm not sure, I've never kept track. Not too many.

I only have flagged posts when it's obviously a bot posting. I try to give the benefit of the doubt.

The 24-hour rule is quite effective when tempers flare and the gloves come off. After the 24-hour period has passed, users are more than welcome to revisit the thread and try to have a civil conversation about the topic. We encourage debates, so long as they don't devolve into hatred, shaming or name-calling.

Homo/trans-phobic comments, outright insulting or demeaning a person for their choices will not be tolerated and JR should be the first person a user contacts if there is any doubt about what's going on.

Basically, if you think you'd hesitate to say it to a stranger on the subway out of fear of getting yourself pummeled in the process, you probably shouldn't say it here either.
