How much sleep do you get?

Contributor: Errant Venture Errant Venture
Roughly 5-6 hours, but I lay in bed, awake but resting, for a couple of hours.

For years I only got around 4 at the most. It was awful & really did a number on me. Now I always get 6-8 & it has revived everything.

It used to take me forever to fall asleep as well, with racing thoughts & all, but now I'm out cold when my head hits the pillow. No sense worrying when there's nothing to worry about anymore.

O great Pixi, I humble myself before you in the hopes that you would grant me the knowledge of this longer period of slumber?

I usually get about 7 hours of sleeps but it depends on what time of year it is. During the winter I can usually sleep longer (for a full 8 hours of uninterrupted rem sleep) but during spring and summer, I usually only get about 4 to 5 hours or sometimes less, unfortunately. My body can just feel the morning light on it and wakes me up for some reason. Has nothing to do with temp. It's all about the early morning light hitting my body.

I get 5 or 6 hours. I really don't need much more than 5, though, and I can still function if I get less than that for multiple nights in a row. I try not to do such, but it's a super helpful feature to have when I'm doing things like shooting films with my boyfriend's production company: I'll pull multiple all nighters and be on set nearly every hour, bringing coffee to the director who's whining that he only got 5 hours last night.

Due to habitually getting up early for work, I'm now to the point that I can't sleep past 7 or 8 am, even if I didn't go to bed until 2 or 3 the previous night. I also go through phases where I just don't sleep, and it's usually linked to stress. I hate those periods (they can last a week on up to 3 or 4 months).

I usually get around 6 hours, unless I don't have to be somewhere the next day and no one wakes me (though this is rare), then I sleep for over 10

I'm a night owl so I'm usually not in bed til sometime after midnight. But seeing that I'm in college I usually have to get up early for class a couple days out of the week lol. But on the weekends, forget about it. You won't see me til some time after noon.

Not nearly enough...and even sleeping in on weekends just does not get back what has been lost. Worries me too, since they show all kinds of health issues associated with the lack of sleep issue....and since I get no more then five or six hours, at most, I am VERY concerned.

As a working professional woman, there are not enough hours in the day, and in the evening to allow us everything that needs doing at work, then at home, THEN to get eight hours sleep. Maybe if we switch to a 32 hour day????

Most Americans are, according to a number of research studies. It helps explain higher then expected heart attack rates too.

It depends for me. I have trouble falling asleep... often I will toss and turn for hours before getting frustrated and just getting back up to do something. Once I manage to fall asleep, I don't usually have a problem staying asleep...but I have to get up with the kids (unless husband is home and lets me sleep in).

Since getting the Depo shot, I get between 3-4 hours a night if I am lucky. Usually it's less than that though.

I am doing pretty good right now, 48 hours no sleep and passed my permit test (drivers test in 12 hours, got a call back for a 2nd job interview!
