This has not been my week. The word 'discontinue' has appeared 4 times and I am not a happy girl about it.

First, as some of you know, Durex discontinued Quiver lube. Thanks to Kindred, I was able to get some from walmart.com but still... once what I got is gone, it's gone. Or it will be one of those things that costs a fortune on Ebay.

Which leads me to my 2nd issue. My lip gloss has been discontinued. Dolly by Goldie. It's a fortune on ebay - I'm not saying that stopped me from stocking up for eternity, but let's just say I wouldn't need a part time job on top of my full time job if I'd known a year ago that this color was so popular that after the company stopped making it, it would sell for about 5 times its original price at online auction.

Third - a letter from Cape Cod potato chips saying that they will no longer be producing my most favorite snack food, Cape Cod Robust Russet chips. They sent a letter full of condolences, in addition to a coupon for a free bag of chips, which they recommend I use on their new flavor, Yukon Gold of some sort, and while I appreciate their sympathy, the loss still hurts.

Fourth - this is kind of a half-assed complaint, but it's just the straw on the camels back with the rest of my week. Sephora and some major department stores have stopped carrying my perfume. I can still buy it from Gaultier, and the online fragrance wholesalers have it but now I have $100 in Sephora gift cards I'd saved up for it and am out a half tank of gas that I used to drive to my nearest Sephora yesterday just to see a blank spot on the shelf where MaDame used to be.

That sucks! I have been there. Mine happened right around the time that Ben and Jerry's discontinued "Chubby Hubby" ice cream. It seemed like everything I loved was being discontinued or was impossible to find! I hope things get better for you....maybe one of those ebay shops will have a sale

Thank you! And good news for you...it looks like they do still make Chubby Hubby,or have started making it again link If you click the flavor you can put your zip code in at the bottom of the box that pops up and it will tell you what stores near you carry it.

Well, I was going to try to cheer you up with a ridiculously lame joke that if you are discontinued, just think how pricelessly valuable you would be! But you already are and I realize such a silly joke would suggest otherwise.

Sorry I can't think of something witty or funny to cheer you up. So, I'll just commiserate with you: That really sucks! Hope you stumble across a lip gloss, potato chips, perfume, and lube that you love even more. To cheer yourself up, go enjoy your favorite of something else that you are certain that you can find! (Or heck, just order yourself a new toy!)

Ugh, when it rains it pours, doesn't it? I hate it when stuff becomes discontinued. I'm having a hell of a time finding my favorite cheddar jalapeno popper snacks (made by Snapps), my favorite deodorant (Secret Platinum in the soft/conditioning solid), and my favorite body wash (the original "Squeaky Pink" by V.S.) for the same reasons. :/

I hate when my favorites get discontinued I also hate when we find something new in the grocery store that we love and then we go back and it's gone and never to return.

Awww man Jenn they have that particular variety of secret deodorant at cosco priced 3 for like 8 bucks....it's Cosco in Toronto though.

My favorite ice cream flavor, Ben and Jerry's Triple Carmel Chunk, was discontinued a few years ago. It was actually sent to the flavor graveyard But recently I've seen it again in supermarkets. So there's always hope that your favorites may come back.

That sucks I found out my favourite shade of lipstick that my mother bought in England was discontinued, as well as my old L'Oreal temporary hair color. ><; Not to mention Trident cherry gum! I picked up a ton at a road stop gas station but it was kinda stale...

I think the only thing possibly worse than having your favorite item discontinued is not knowing what the heck is going on with it. I've been waiting for Urban Decay's Naked palette to come back in stock for months, checking both Sephora.com and Urban Decay's website every other day, and it's just not. in. stock. EVERRRR. But they won't say that it's discontinued, which gives me this terrible sliver of hope. And that just makes it all worse...

I am sorry that four of your most favorite things got discontinued all at once, though

I suspect Cape Cod got a lower bidder with a provider of Yukon gold potatoes. The Russets will likely come back in a few years without any warning.

My own experience is that once I'm able to save up for something I found online, it's already been shuffled into clearance in a size I'll never fit into.

Things I miss that are gone:

Nerds cereal
Progaine (Pfizer shampoo that had Rogaine in it)
Crystal Pepsi
the ORIGINAL soda in a glass bottle flavor! The new ones don't have the flava.
That one mouthwash I can never remember that didn't burn the hell out of my mouth
Hubba Bubba Soda (Bubble gum flavored soda I only had once)

There's more...I just can't remember them.

OMG I know how you feel, this happens to me all the time. My top five perfumes have to be bought off ebay because they are discontinued and very expensive on there too!

The thing I miss was this candy called Sixlets. It was little chocolate balls that were coated like M&Ms, and they were sweeter, like confectioner's sugar sweet. I miss those a lot... I can't find them anywhere.

Bath and Body Works always discontinues my fav prefumes as well, it seems they have short lives there. Just know everything happens for a reason, hopefully there is a method behind this madness!

Huh, now that you mention it...I haven't seen them in years either. I think the last few times I'd seen them were in dollar stores or hidden on the bottom shelf of a candy aisle in some backwoods convenience stores.

I'm going to miss candy cigarettes too. They were banned in the US this last summer. So sad...

I miss Crystal Pepsi too! And I don't remember there ever being a Nerds cereal but it sounds awesome.

I think they still sell them near me! I could swear I saw them last time I was at Dollar Tree...I'll look again next time I'm there and let you know.

Oh man.. that happens to me all the time. My favorite Mac barbie blush was a limited edition item. I got the VERY LAST ONE and my local Mac store and I was on cloud nine. I had a a couple weeks and dropped it and busted it all over the floor. In desperation I scooped up the big chunks and kept using what I could. I had to play a twice the price on ebay to get a new one.

I purchased the cutest lip gloss at bath and body works over Christmas. It was clear with glitter in it. I got 2 tubes one for me and one for a gift. I went back to get more last week and It was gone. A holiday Item.

I hate that! ughh!
