I just seen on the news that ABC has been trying to track down the man who won the other half of the Powerball this week. It was freaky and awkward to watch as the reporter tracked down everyone he could from a video they recieved from the gas station the man checked his ticket at in Maryland. It was messed up, almost stalkerish.
My question is, if you won, would you tell the public, or keep it as silent as possiable?
Also, would you be pissed if a news company was stalking you and your friends down to find out your name when your obviously trying to stay out of the public eye?

I wouldn't tell the public and and I would be very pissed if some news station tracked me down. I live in a very small town, everyone already knows everyone else's business...that sucks for most people, but it's awesome for the thieves that want to break into your house when they know you're not home. I don't want people knowing I won the lottery because that would give those bad apples the incentive to break into my house (or relatives I haven't seen in forever showing up out of the blue just because I won).

I would not tell the public my family is money hungry and I barely hear from them as is. If I won they be calling me like crazy. I like to keep it to myself and tell who I want too.

I would tellhe public, because i would want to know who won, that a real person won ETC, however, i would also be mad if the media was stalking me and harrassing me. There are still limits on what is ok to do to people, even if they do announce themselves to the public.
