Illegal Sex Toys!?

In Alabama, the sale and promotion of sex toys is illegal. This means that any of Alabamians, who promote Eden Fantasys, are being on the wrong side of the law.

William H. Pryor, the former attorney general of Alabama, says that there is “no fundamental right for a person to buy a device to produce orgasm." Do you think this is correct?

I live in Alabama, I've heard of this legislation, and I still promote Eden. There's plenty of sex shops here that I've been to, and they merely put Novelty Use Only on their toys. It's stupid...but as long as toys are being sold I have no problem with it, as I am proud to promote Eden.

This is a seriously strange law to me.
When questioned about the legislation, one of the biggest advocates against sex toys, Dan Ireland, believes, "sometimes you have to protect the public against themselves.”

This doesn't seem right to me. We are not living in a Big Brother state and the only person that should make my decisions is me. Grr

Forgot to add an option. If I were in Alabama I would LEAVE!

I lived in NC and they had similar laws on the books. There was actually a long battle when Adam & Eve started selling stuff mail order way back when, but they survived.

I can't remember all the specifics, but they had other stupid laws still on the books like being illegal to practice sodomy etc. Silly that these were ever discussed by government.

I wouldn't let it stop me though.

Unalienable Rights = pursuit of Happiness.

Is orgasm via a mechanical device in the privacy of one's home not the epitome of the pursuit of Happiness? Does it infringe on anyone else's pursuit of Happiness?

As far as I'm concerned, these laws were outdated and anti-American before they were ever put on the books.

Yes, heaven forbid someone achieve orgasm in the privacy of their own home by way of something other than hands, mouths, or genitals. Seriously, how in the ever-loving hell is it the government's business what I put on my crotch???

Glad I live in Pennsylvania. Many towns have at least one sex shop, if not in the town proper then on the outskirts. Hearing about stuff like this just makes me want to go on a shopping spree, film it, then send it to these self-appointed sex police just to piss them off.

Wow, that is crazy! I've heard of certain sex acts being illegal (like oral sex in Indiana I think, can't exactly recall the state), but never heard of sex toys being illegal! I would definitely still promote Eden if I lived in Alabama.

It is also illegal in South Carolina to beat your wife...unless it's Sunday and you are on the courthouse steps. Indeed...there are all kinds of stupid laws on the books that really need to be purged.
