I don't like the look of the Minis. Honda is a good company. I usually buy their sister brand, Acura. I had an RSX before and and a TSX now. I had an Accord as well before I started buying Acuras. I'd love a Mugen Civic SI and the new NSX.

I used to drive an Acura CL, and have to remind myself to go easy on the pedal all the time, vehicles with fast engines aren't the best choice unless you want to collect lots of tickets IMO!

I have zero experience with Honda, but did work for Mini Cooper Customer service for 2 years. They are awesome little cars! Nearly everyone I talked to loved their cooper and were very happy with the service they had on them.

What is an American car these days?

Most of the "foreign" brands produce here in the USA.
In fact, a majority of all Hondas sold in America are actually manufactured in America, 85% in 2011.

While, the "domestic" brands produce a large number of vehicles outside the USA, for sale here. The lines are all blurred.

I've owned both (and loved both). I'd never buy another Mini without a really extended warranty... BMW is a bunch of bastards! Honda's will last forever with very little extra investment!

Hondas are great, but I'd LOVE to have a mini-Cooper. It's on the short list for my next car (along with Fiat 500 and Nissan Leaf).

My wife used to have a Honda and it served us well for years and years; I used to ride a Honda motorcycle and it served me well, too. But the Mini's also supposed to be great and it just has so much more style, IMO.

I like both. But it all depends on what type of style you are looking for, and what you can afford. Hondas are basic, which there is nothing wrong with thatand they are also reasonable in price, coups are a little more stylish, extravagent and a littl more on the expensive side
