Tomorrow is Election Day and I am curious to know where the Eden community stands on this presidential election. Will you re-elect our President Obama again or will you be trying something new and take your chances on Romney? maybe you will be sitting on the sidelines because neither candidate satisfies you? share your thoughts, let the political debate begin. As for me, I am not Anti-Romney, I'm just Pro-Obama all the way! #Obama2012

This year is an extremely important one to me. Not just the presidential elections either. I do a lot of work with state level things and I have been trying to involve myself in the process of advocacy/etc.

I'm not getting too far into this but I will say everyone should vote so they can have a say in where their country is going. Don't bitch about it for 4 years and then not do the one thing you can to change it!

Thanks for making the voting private. Who I voted for is my business, though it's probably obvious. But indeed, more than two candidates.

I can't vote since I'm in Canada. Personally I think there should be more than 2 people/parties to vote for.

This is my first election (I registered last year), so I'm very, VERY excited! I plan to vote in every election from here on, both local and national. Woot, woot!

There are. I have twelve candidates listed on my sample ballot here in Florida. It just depends on state election procedures for getting on the ballot - some places have as few as six, others as many as fourteen. Plus there's always the write-in option.

The Big Two just happen to get the most press.

I'm voting for Gary Johnson. For everyone planning on staying home so as not to waste their vote, remember, if the Libertarians get 5% of the popular vote, then they get equal ballot access, and the same access to federal funding that the Democrats and Republicans get. So if you're leaning third party, it's extremely important that you vote.

I'm voting for Obama. This is one of the first times that I don't feel like I'm just voting for the lesser of the evils. Just my opinion, though.

That's a shame, and I hope you might reconsider. Even if it's unlikely that a third party candidate will win this election, every vote for them will help make them more likely to win future elections. If you really align yourself with the Libertarian candidate, I'm sure they'd love your support.

For the Presidential race, the sample ballot they're showing online for my area only has 3 candidates (not counting the write-in).

I've just seen a bunch of last minute Romney ads rolling out on TV the past twenty minutes, I hope undecided voters won't be affected by them!

Yeah, election ballot qualifications are weirdly different between states. I understand the Green Party has three different running mates listed because of how states qualify third-party ballot listings. This is why educating one's self on the options is so important.

"Mitt Romney (blah)" Holla for Obama!

One thing I want to say in general, for people that criticize the "lack" of miracles Obama has brought about in 4 years, bipartisanship is a big reason why. And it's funny how people who happily gave Bush 8 years to put us in this mess are crowing about Obama not working everything out.

With so many important issues on the line, I really find it hard to believe that there are many voters still undecided.

I don't think anyone sensible really believed he would perform miracles - I took his boasting and promising the moon during the last campaign as a sign of his inexperience and of his narcissism.

However, I do think that after all his promises he at least should have been expected not to vastly expand the Patriot Act...

I am anti-Romney for very obvious reasons, including the ignorancy of women, their bodies and how shit works. Lol. If you're in favor of taking ANY rights away from a female and what she does with HER OWN body, you ain't no friend of mine. Lol.

However, I'm not in favor of Obama either. Didn't vote Obama the first time and I will not do it now. I love that he's appearing so laid back and "yes!" for everything the people want. Women's rights, planned parenthood, abortion, etc -- Obama says let us, the women handle it and keep our rights -- wonderful! I love that. He actually almost had my vote. It was SOOOO close! Gay rights? He's down with that too. What's not to like? Well, plenty, actually, but I was starting to fall for his stuff for a minute there. It's wonderful, beyond wonderful actually that he's saying (key word, saying) that he'll support women and their rights to do as they please, he'll give gays some rights and will do all this Obamacare health care... until you read the fine print about his healthcare plans. Having a chip implanted in me without my consent? No siree! That alone is taking away our rights as Americans. No choice but to receive an implant that can be tracked, you can be kept up with and you will not be able to do or receive certain things without it such as healthcare is not FOR the people. It's against us, and if someone has the ability to track your ass down like that, of course they won't mind giving you all the rights you ask for!

Anyways, that is why I'm anti-both parties.

I vote Gary. The snail. I vote Gary the snail. Kidding. I'm voting Gary Johnson. I know, I know, third party candidate, but I don't care. I have felt SO strongly on this that I just can't. I spent a lot of time doing some deep thinking on both parties Obama and Romney. Never did I consider Romney until I learned about Obama's micro freaking chip plan. Then I literally stunned myself into somewhat of a daze for like 24 hours thinking 'OMG! Does that mean I'm voting Romney? WTF! I have been heavily anti-Romney. How can this be happening!'

Then I decided on Gary. During this really deep thinking process of mine, I just could NOT confidently vote for Obama or Romney. I was really getting scared about this.

I've been so excited about election day though, that I've about gone crazy! It was so bad actually that all day yesterday and all day today (Monday, but past midnight, so it's actually Tues. but you get my point) I thought voting was TODAY! hahaha! Our freaking phones had the wrong dates on them Sunday! It read Sunday the 5th, so here I am planning on getting to the polls all Sunday, and even still planning on going until 5PM today when my partner called and said "you won't be voting today!" LOL. I was so mad.

This election means a lot to me. It chaps my behind that people keep saying "what does it matter?!" when the election is brought up, and sadly, I've heard that from my own friends! I'm like "what does it matter?! Are you crazy? Does your healthcare, kids, birth control, vagina or rights at all not matter?" People just simply do not know what is at stake.

I'm voting Gary because while I know he will not win, I have not been able to vote Obama or Romney with a decent heart. If that makes sense? I just can't. No matter what it will not settle with me. I know it's damn near impossible for anyone else to win, but Gary is the only one I can feel right about voting for. I like him a lot more than anyone else running.

I'm glad to see others who are excited about tomorrow! No though, neither candidate satisfies me at all. When I thought for months I was voting Obama, it brought so much fear into my heart. You know? I just knew it wasn't the right choice for me, although I love his claims on supporting the people. It won't settle with me.

Ooooh! I see someone else said they're voting Libertarian! Yay! I thought I was like the only person in the world. Glad to see that, Kira. Great minds think alike?

Happy voting everybody!

THANK YOU! lol. Why does people only think there is two? Do you know how many people have said "you HAVE to vote Mitt or Obama?!" When I said I'm voting otherwise. Why aren't people made aware of the other candidates?

I'm not a big fan of any of the candidates, including the 3rd party ones. I've become disillusioned with the political system, and this coming from one of the biggest political junkies around. It's frustrating with how gridlocked the system has become. I voted for the President, but really wish Jeb Bartlett (from the The West Wing) was running.
