So ive been sitting my the window all day, waiting for my package that I paid extra shipping for to be here today, on time... and it still hasn't arrived.

This is the first time ive chosen UPS to USPS.

So my question is.. which do you choose when shipping? and which do you think is the best.

I did USPS for a few orders, but their tracking sucks so much I've switched to UPS.

I pretty much use USPS for everything. It's cheapest, and it's faster than UPS Ground.

If the purchase gives me free Next Day shipping, I'll take it, of course.

I usually go with USPS, since I know what time it's supposed to get delivered every day, and UPS sometimes comes after I've left for my night job.

I usually go USPS too, b.c i know the delivery guy. but this time i paid a little extra to get this a day early before I leave, and went UPS.
and it says online
Scheduled Delivery:
Thursday, 02/03/2011, By End of Day

but I have yet to see it and its 6:56pm

I usually use the USPS priority mail for 3 reasons:

-because its free with a $59.00 order
-because they ship in only 2 days
-because USPS usually delivers to my house around noon, while UPS doesn't normally arrive until around 6pm.

Occasionally, I will opt for the UPS next day delivery, but only when my order is large enough to get it for free.

well i called UPS customer service just to see whats up and this was my "wonderful" convo

C: hello?
Me: Hello?
C: Yes?
Me: is the customer service for UPS?
C: oh yea, sorry, hi
Me: Okay.. well hi, i need info on my package that hasnt arrived yet.
C:
me: hello?
C: hi
Me: yea, we've said hello, you know i'm here, about my package
C: oh, yea, what do you need to know
me: where it is
C: Oh..bad weather conditions, it will be tomorrow.
me: Okay, but I didnt even tell you the number
C: Oh. well what is it?
me: (package number)
C: yep, bad weather, tomorrow, you will get it.
me: well im leaving tomorrow, can i get it sent somewhere else or have it held?
C: nope, sorry

I will usually do UPS or fedex over USPS because the tracking is more accurate and my items arrive to my rural area much quicker.... except EF which always comes fast.

Yea, my packages usually arrive on time or early. I understand with the weather some things will be delayed, but the online shipping info wasnt updated, it still says it will arrive "end of day" today.

My other package says that "weather conditions" have slowed the process by 2 hours. So expect the package 2 hours later than normal.

and yes customer "service" sounded like 5 guys watching a football game, and being rude.

Waterfall

I go with USPS, it usually takes about 2-3 days for me to get my items and it is the only carrier that will leave the package above my mailbox in my apartment building or in my mailbox when I am at home and not at school. I like knowing that I can easily get to my items!

UPS is the worst carrier I'm aware of. Packages sent through them never make it to me.

See there was a day that my package was supposed to show and it didnt for whatever reason. I waited until 7 and called and asked what was going on because it was scanned on a truck.

I actually had them apologize, take my work address because they would send it to me first thing in the morning, they then called me at work to say that the package was on a truck and on its way to me... AND THEN they called back to apologize again once I had signed for it

I always use USPS as I have a PO box. This way, nothing can disappear when left outside.

I prefer USPS because at my apartment, they always leave it inside the office at the clubhouse. Sometimes with UPS, they will just leave it at my door.

It really depends on what I order, how much the difference in shipping is and how long it will take vs. when I need it. If I am able to wait then I go with USPS. If I need it ASAP or it costs the same then I use UPS. I like UPS better but I am a bit on the broke side right now so I have to go with what I can afford.

For some reason, the Liberator combo would not fit in my mailbox. My post man was kind enough to carry it to my door along with my regular mail.
I may have been imagining it, but he seemed to be smiling really big when he carried it up. It was almost like he knew what was in the package.

I almost always choose USPS. They're much faster under normal circumstances. But, I do choose UPS on those rare times I get free 2nd day shipping.

I almost always choose USPS but that's because they deliver around 4PM for me which is almost always a time when I'll be home. However, I've been getting a lot of UPS packages lately, and while the USPS lady likes me to get out of my apartment and come down to the common area to pick up my package, my UPS man will just walk up to my apartment door which makes it easier. However, if I'm not home to receive the package, the USPS is so much easier to retrieve the package while I've had issues fighting with UPS to get my package in the past.

UPDATE*****

I called back b/c i was LIVID at the sad excuse for "service". and got the same guy, so im going to wait and call them on monday.

But in my talking to the doofus, he informed me my package was "lost".
It has yet to arrive, and he said he has no record of it now.

So .... *bangs head against keyboard*

I am very upset, that the one package i actually NEEDED to get here on time is gone, along with my points, money, and conture bliss.
