What age did you get proposed at, how did he propose

Simply what age did you get married at and how did he purpose. If you have been divorced and remarried put both of ages you were porosed to.

I got married at 20 and proposed at 20. My husbands battalion came home from oversees. I was at the airport and as they all came off the plane he got down on his knee and proposed to me with a strip of a paper napkin made into a circle. lol ok so a little cheasy of a ring I know. He was gonna wait later to get me a actual ring but he never can wait and always wants to do things right away. LOL, but its crazy things like that that make me love him so much. The next day was christmas so no jewlers were open. We went 2 days after he came home and got reall rings. After that we scheduled a miltary formal wedding(he wanted a regular wedding off base but the military pays for it all if its done on base and its actually not much different then getting married "the normal way") at the base, they helped us out alot and did it in 2 weeks because I was shipping out to iraq in 5 weeks. With the moeny we saved having it on base we payed to fly some family in from out of state, with it being so short notice it was a little hectic. Thats basicly how I got married.

I was 18 years old, my husband was away for the army, but got to come home for Christmas for two weeks, and he proposed to me on Christmas eve at a party we were having. At my moms house, with both sides of the family. It was so sweet and romantic. And we got it on video!

Three days after meeting online in a forum, March, 1999, I was 21. We had emailed back and forth those three days, and then he finally said 'I'm going to ask you to marry me soon.' And I replied 'Why not?'

BIG MISTAKE.

So he sent me the ring three months later through the mail by surprise - gold-plated with channel set rhinestones. It fit perfectly. He paid $8 at Jimbo's Jewelers and Pawn, right out of the bargain bin. The settings turned green within six months, when we finally met in person.

REALLY BIG MISTAKE.

But, you know, when you're a sheltered romantic idiot, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I'm calling the lawyer tomorrow to find out what's holding up the filing of my divorce.

I picked 18-20, but actually he proposed when I was 17, not that long after we started dating. On the phone .
We had a really long engagement before we got married.

We got engaged 7 months after we started dating...I was 20 and he was 22. We got married two years later when I was 22 and he was 24. He didn't propose per say..we just talked about it and decided that we wanted to stop saying "if we get married" or "when we get married" and start putting our plans into action. It was him who first brought up actually making it happen though, so maybe that counts as a proposal LOL. But, we both kind of think the whole thing with the man having to ask kind of silly. The couple gets married and go into a partnership with each other so shouldn't it be a mutual decision and not someone HAVING to ask the other?

LOL, yeh

We talked about it before. I was thinking a while well he was gone about it and I wanted to talk to him about it a little more. I didnt actually think wede do it then. It was something like wow um I was thinking about it but didnt know you were gonna do it like in a airport. It was something well worth it thoe. I guess time apart makes you think about all you have, expecially when all you see is a warzone and the the stuff that comes with it.

Yea, I didn't mean anything against people who do the traditional proposal thing. It's just not for us, and so it's fitting that we didn't do it that way.

And I definitely think a spontaneous proposal like in an airport like that is more memorable than those that are too planned out.

does it get to count if I proposed, and what if it was at 15. my ex husband proposed when I was 15, actualy by tossing the ring box over my shoulder...I'm not a hopeless romantic by anymeans but actually looking at me might have been nice. My current complicated situation two years ago I(19) acctualy proposed to him, put a ring in his christmas stocking that had "will you mary me?" engraved inside, it wasn't much but he had semi proposed before but as a bitter divorcee i had dismised any idea of getting married but i changed my mind so I figured that was a good way to let him know.

I'm not married yet. We've been together for almost 6 years, and he asked me when I was 24 and he was 22. Unfortunately we were having major issues and I felt as though he thought getting married might solve our problems, so I was hesitant and said when we're ready. Then life happened. 2 kids, and buying a house, so we still haven't gotten around to it yet. I am in no rush and neither is he, thank god. When we do get married it will be by ourselves in vegas or hawaii or something. I'm not into attention being put on me, and I hate being in front of crowds of people!

I'm definitely not into attention being put on me, or being in front of crowds, but on my wedding day I felt so beautiful and happy, that I didn't care anymore.

My husband and I met when I was 16 and he was 18. A year and five days after our first date he proposed, and I accepted. That was on August 21st, 2001. On October 1st, 2004 we got married -- I was 20 and he was 22. At the time we planned on marrying the following year (2005), but I got pregnant in February of 2004, and we wanted to BE legally married before our daughter was born. We had a total shotgun-style wedding, minus the shotgun, lol. I was nine months pregnant -- 17 days shy of my due date -- on the day we got married!

My husband proposed to me at age 21. He came to my work and then to my desk and knelt down right in front of me and asked. He was so sweet and sappy! lol

We dated when we were in high school, I was 14 and he was 15, he said to me one night that he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Well that freaked me out then, but when we got back together in early January of 2009, we started talking very quickly about getting married. There wasn't any 'real' proposal until this past February when he could afford to get the ring, and I came home from work one night and he did it with a pair of boots, lol. I had been after him for 6 months to get a new pair of boots, and he had finally gone out and done it and was pretending to be really excited to show them to me since he had finally gone out and done it, and when I opened the shoe box, the ring box was in between the boots.

We're set to get married 2 weeks before I turn 23 in January

I think I was either 21 or 22. I know I was in my last semester of college. It was several months before we got a ring. We were dating for about 5 or 6 years and got married about a year. So, I must have been 22 when we got engaged......

I'm not a Romantic, so these things escape me.

"ya I was gona wait untill later but then I found my self crumpling up the napkin that was in my hand as I was so anxouis to see you again, but then I got the idea of why not make a ring now and get a real one later"

LOL, his buddies all told me he only went through a thousand napkins, but it was a long flight

I was 24 when he proposed and will be 25 when we are married. This feels young to me-- but looking at the votes, I guess not!

I put 18-20, but I was actually 17. My husband proposed over the phone after my mother had "stolen" me away for a weekend.

Other! Sort of? My significant other proposed to propose when I think I was 18? He is two years younger. He said that when he graduated from high school he wanted to propose. We were in a tree!! I was annoyed with the idea of marriage then, though, marriage with anyone. Over 11 years have passed and there has been no proposal and no marriage. I do not feel an emotional need for it, but it might be practical. I got thinking on it more when thinking about why some gays fight for the right to it. Not sure how it will happen for us, but it probably will some day. We are not exactly traditional, so a proposal and wedding for us will either be simple or silly.

We started dating when I was 19. He proposed when I was 20. We had gone to his brother's wedding shortly before, and I'd thought he was going to propose there, but he didn't. We went out for a nice dinner once we were back home, and I thought he was going to propose, but we finished dessert and got the check...and nothing! Before we left, though, he excused himself to go to the bathroom. When he came back, he got down on one knee, opened the ring box, and waited for me to say something. He said, "Well...?" I said yes, even though he was so nervous that he never actually asked me to marry him. We were 21 when we got married.

Sigel actually told me he was going to marry me on our first date, when we were juniors in highschool. I told him to hang on to his ability to dream, it would serve him well. He formally proposed on Valetine's day on his knees, in my parent's house while my parent's did their best to ignore what was going on. My Mother refused to believe I would marry him and actively tried to get me to leave him even after our girls were born. Still I remember how sweet and scared he looked on his knee, shaking from head to toe. We were 18 at the time.

I was in my upper-mid 20s, she was early-mid 20s. I had it all planned but managed to make a mess of it.

She still said yes.

I'm going to tell my brother's engagement story. Its way more interesting than mine.

He dated his now wife for four years, then arranged a Valentine's weekend ski trip with her. She was expecting a proposal. All weekend long, no proposal. As they were packing to leave, she called her sister to tell her she was ending it with him as soon as they returned home.

They always took arrival and departure pics for their trips, so as she made that call, he was setting up the camera/tripod. He set the timer, then instead of sitting next to her he dropped to his knees, showed her the ring and proposed, capturing her reaction with the camera.
