What do you eat in the morning?

Contributor: Sephymuffins Sephymuffins
I figured it'd be an interesting discussion starter. Some people don't eat breakfast, while some people do. Some people like lighter things, some people like a heavy meal.

I, personally, like to have coffee and maybe a small bowl of cereal. If I wake up really hungry I have a larger bowl.
I like light, refreshing types of breakfasts. I don't like a huge slab of pancakes or anything that's really heavy feeling. Eggs are nice sometimes, but I'm "ehh" about warm breafasts. I prefer cold, so that's why I really love cereal.

Anyone?

I do not eat in the morning. If I am hungry, I will sometimes have a piece of fruit. I know that I used to eat, sometimes a half a bagel, other times more, but I tend to not any longer. I do have a cup of tea though or some orange juice if I wake up in the morning.

I don't eat anything first thing when I get up, but during the week, once I get to work I will usually have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Now weekend are a different story, I want a big breakfast like eggs, bacon, hash brown casserole and grits.

Weekday mornings, I get up, make coffee, work for a bit then make oatmeal with honey and dried cranberries (yum!) - I usually drink 2 cups of coffee and eat oatmeal every morning while I go through email and get to projects etc. I get kinda cranky when I can't have this routine. I also listen to talk radio, while I work, until mid-afternoon. It's like my work mood-setter. If that makes sense.

I have to be awake for a little while before I can eat though, otherwise it makes me feel sick.

Try the OceanSpray brand - it is soo soo good. Lots of wholegrain clusters, big fluffy oats and loads of dried cranberries. My absolute favorite.

I'm the same way in the morning. I can't eat right away or else I feel sick.

I ALSO drink two cups of coffee, but that's normally only on the weekends, as I have to wake up at 5am on weekdays for work and shower. I tend to just have coffee and go straight to work. Unfortunately this makes me end up feeling sick, but sometimes I just CANNOT eat in the mornings. I'm not even hungry half of the time.

I will die without my coffee, and I usually have yogurt or fresh fruit with it. I hate breakfast, but my blood sugar is really low when I wake up so I have to eat.

I usually hook up the IV drip and get the coffee in me right away

Typically, just coffee and some cheese, although weekends it's eggs and sausage for me.

I absolutely must eat something in the mornings, or my acid reflux is killing me by lunch time. I rarely have a heavy breakfast, though. I usually go for cereal, or yogurt with fruit and granola, or a muffin (I love pumpkin muffins!). Sometimes I make little breakfast biscuits with bits of sausage and cheese mixed in, but I'm not always in the mood for something that heavy first thing. I have to be up at least and hour or 2 before I can face a heavy breakfast, though then I like eggs and bacon.

I'm not a coffee person, though. I've never been able to stand the stuff, so I mostly do without coffee. I enjoy tea, but it's more of a treat than an all-the-time thing. Except during exams, then my black and green teas suddenly start to disappear...

That sounds like a much better morning ritual than mine, which usually consists of waking up a half hour before class, groaning, throwing on clothes, quickly making some mint tea and then realizing half way to class I forgot the tea on my dresser haha.

I always, always, always start off my morning with a cup of water. It prepares my stomach for food and wakes me up a little in general. I spend a few minutes checking my email and mentally preparing myself for the day before I eat my breakfast. My favorite breakfast foods involve eggs, usually sunny-side up or omelletes (is that even spelled right? it looks funny), yummy chocolate pancakes with whipped cream, or anything else my boyfriend might want to make for me. When I'm at school though, I'm stuck eating two Chewy granola bars for breakfast and waiting til 11AM for lunch in the dining halls. I miss having big, awesome breakfasts with other people.

I coffee-nate myself from the get go. Breakfast is hit or miss, but I try to at least have toast w/honey. Sometimes I whip up pancakes.

I'm just never hungry enough to really make a huge breakfast...on weekdays. On the weekends though, I LOVE to start with a huge coney island type breakfast (hashbrowns, eggs (ssu), sausage, toast, cottage cheese, OJ, coffee).

DAMN YOU SEPHY!!!! Now I want a big breakfast!

I wish I ate more, especially in the mornings, but I also have that problem where I just can't seem to eat for a while after I wake up because it just makes me sick, even if I wake up starving. A lot of times I try to have a soda first thing in the morning because the bubbles will settle my stomach back down and the syrup makes sure there's *something* in my stomach and hopefully open the door to being able to eat. Even when I'm starving I'm not hungry sometimes, if that makes any sense.

I'm not a coffee drinker (I know if I pick up the habit I'll never kick it, especially whilst studying) so morning breakfast is usually a glass of water and either a piece of toast with Vegemite and cheese, a small bowl of cereal or a piece of fruit. I really can't eat much in the morning because I usually feel kind of gross when I first get up, but then again overall I'm much more of a small meals lots of times a day than a hearty big meal sort.

LOL! You guys on here are funny.

Coffee is my only addiction, aside from the cigarettes every now and then. Cigarettes are a lot less healthy, however.

It seems everyone else bleeds coffee too.

I have a love hate relationship coffee. Sometimes I absolutely need it, and I love the taste of it, but more often than not when I drink it, it ends up upsetting my stomach

Lately, I'm often eating a rolled cheese and asparagus omelet for breakfast or French toasts.

When I'm hurrying in the morning, I'll take yogourt and put some all bran buds in them. I don't eat the buds alone as a bowl of cereals, but it can make some yogourts taste like pies. Seriously, try a lemon-flavored yogourt and mix it with all bran buds, and you got yourself an almost-guilt-free lemon pie.

Actually, since I've abused coffee for SO long... it's started to upset my stomach. I used Folgers Simply Smooth brand. It's gentle on your stomach.. and when they say it is, it really is! But be careful, once you go from this coffee to normal brand coffees, your stomach might get even more upset.

It's worth a try at least. =) The coffee is really amazing and it's never once upset my stomach.

I don't do coffee... Is that a sin? =p

If I'm working it's normally orange juice (Simply Orange is the best) and a granola bar til lunch. At home, it's an orange if we got'm.. or some ritz crackers and cream cheese.

I used to over do coffee and now I tend to stick to decaf. Every morning no matter whether I am working or not I always have two eggs with two toasts. During the weekend I might make some veggie sausage if I have any. If I'm still hungry after that I will usually eat toasts with peanut butter, jam, and banana slices. It's like the desert part of my breakfast.
