what is Ravelry? I follow knitty but not terribly closely
A knitting social network.
Ravelry link It has forums, links and pics to every conceivable pattern and yarn. You can look up a pattern, then see pics and notes from everyone else who knit it already.
Once I was asked to duplicate a scarf for someone but I was having trouble figuring out the pattern. I posted pics of the scarf and asked what it was. In minutes several people answered. They were all wrong, but they did steer me in the right direction.
Also, you can mark patterns as favorites or put them in your 'queue' as a way to keep them organized. In the projects section you can record details and pics of your projects. I can't say enough good things about it.
The programming and features on that site are more impressive than I've seen anywhere else. Sorry Neuron Geek!
