Depends on how it ends. If it's quick, then maybe. If it's a terrifying, slow end of the world, then it would just stress me out to have to think that I'm going to have to go through it so I couldnt be happy.

I'd want to know. I know that we all should live each day as though it's our last because really, any day could be the last day we're alive, but it's hard to do that, not knowing when that day will come.

No, I don't see how it would help anything. I doubt that I'd feel that I've lived enough, and it would just fill me with a sense of regret. I'd just be dreading the end.

I sure would want to know. That would give me time to stock up the old saucer with fresh food and supplies and make sure I was far enough out of the orbit of the planet to not have to worry about it. The only problem is that IF the date was widely known, you can count on an almost "traffic jam" like effect on all the aliens leaving at the same time, and believe me, if you think running into a 1997 Buick is a big deal at 60 MPH, you have no idea what running into another 150 year old star ship is like, traveling at sublight and with shields down. OUCH...it ain't pretty. Ever heard of the TUNGUSTA EVENT? That was a LOW speed smash up, kiddo!!!!

If I knew the world was going to end on X day, then I wouldn't have to waste my final days doing work that was due after X day, and I'd feel free to spend all my savings having fun for the remaining time. But we'll never know, because the end gets incorrectly predicted too much, so nobody would believe it anyway.

My first inclination was to say no, because I don't want to spend time being depressed, but now I'm leaning towards less--if the world ended, I wouldn't want to waste my last few months drowning in schoolwork.

Also, I smiled at your "losing your virginity" remark, because I remember thinking the same thing a few years back. I had a bit of a health scare that turned out to be easily fixable, but being a worrier, all I could think about was that I was going to die a virgin. It all worked out, though, so I wouldn't worry about it too much
