I'm a little bit of both! I'm definitely liberal in most, if not all, social aspects of politics, and I'm a mix of both conservative and liberal when it comes to the economics aspects.

I would consider myself middle/left. My conservative and liberal values are mine and I don't believe in forcing them on anyone else

I am extremely liberal, to me it is about protecting peoples rights to live their lives how they please instead of imposing values that are the cultural norm.

I always get right in the middle and on the very bottom of the political compass quiz... I'm still trying to figure out my political identity but I think I'm doomed to be an issues voter.
FYI almost all modern American politicians are in the top right quadrant unless they are libertarian or socialist.

Basically it means that you believe that other adults have the right to determine what they want to do with their own lives.

Unlike a lot of conservatives, you do not believe you have the right to legislate what people can and can't do with their own bodies as long as it doesn't harm other people.

Unlike a lot of liberals, you do not believe you have the right to legislate what people must or must not do with their own money.

Interesting, and thank you for clearing that up, Hyacinth.

I don't consider myself either. I'm liberal about some things, conservative about others. I certainly don't follow a party line. I've been told that I should consider myself libertarian, but I don't--so I don't label myself politically, with one exception, and even then, I rarely talk about it, because I find that most people don't understand what it means.

Neither. I'm communitarian. Conservatives and liberals are both out of touch with reality.

So are Democrats. That's the problem with a two-party system: each party is equally corrupt (did you know that Wall Street donated more money to Obama than to McCain? Like, vastly more. But they're okay with his condemnations of their greed, because they know he'll keep cutting them bailout checks), and a two-party system makes it easy to codify "US" the good, intelligent, independent-minded, forward-thinking, clear-sighted individuals, vs. "THEM" the evil, stupid, brain-washed, backwards, illogical sheep.

Your basic Democrat politician is an out of touch busybody who thinks he is morally and ethically superior to everyone around him, and wants full control over every facet of your life, except for what you do in the bedroom. Unless you're eating or smoking in the bedroom, because those are filthy habits that need to be eliminated with sin taxes and shaming.

Your basic Republican politician is an out of touch busybody who thinks he is morally and ethically superior to everyone around him, and wants enough control to present a glamorized American Dream to news cameras around the world. They fully believe in freedom to do what you want, so long as what you want looks idyllic and patriotic at the same time, otherwise, it's off to the freak show you go with all the other weirdos.

Seriously... the two-party system is only good for the people who can easily manipulate the system to get rich. Our entire government has become a Ponzi scheme of epic proportions, where we pretend that fairly slight differences are gigantic gaps, and where we think this over-glorified horse race we call a Presidential election truly matters, while we ignore congressional and senatorial races.
