i've been very comfortable on the forums. While i do feel the LGBT section could use a little tweaking, it's not really busy enough to warrant it, so i understand, and i have had no issues posting and being openly lesbian in any of the other sections of the forums and have seen others doing the same. i've encountered some ignorance, which is to be expected, but not just concerning LGBT. There have been a few heated discussions on LGBT related topics, mostly in the Trans Issues section, which is a shame but it's a sadly less understood concept clouded by a lot of ignorance and confusion. Most of those threads have had as many people (both trans and non-trans folks, i might add) defending and standing up for Trans as people being negative, bigoted or ignorant, and in a few cases, i've seen it become a good learning opportunity for people who really just didn't know or didn't understand. i've also provided the perspective of a partnered lesbian in all of my reviews which have all been well received and rated. For the most part, people here are open minded, friendly and comparatively non-judgmental. There's been exceptions but those exceptions have been just that, and definitely are not the rule here. Moderators have also handled heated discussions in a very professional and respectful manner which i appreciate.

That is one of the things I love about Eden, it is very open and friendly community all the way around. Though you will find the ignorant people everywhere you go, there are always a few. But I feel that Eden handles those situations very well!

Of course. I really think that EF is one of the nicest most open-minded communities I've come across.

LGB-friendly? Yes! Very much so. T-friendly? Ehhh, well, some people around here have some pretty unpleasant views ranging from simply ignorant or unknowingly insensitive to outright transphobic.
I love that we have a forum for transgender people here though, that's a big step. Eden can't help what individual users think and I wouldn't expect them to ban or censor people simply for being wrong.
I guess some more educational materials about transgender people would help with that. Maybe we trans* folks should take it upon ourselves to post some more information threads on this forum.

I have pretty much never seen anyone be hateful of anyone because of their sexuality, gender, or whathave you identity. We have men on here with vaginas, women on here with penises, we have lesbians, we have swingers, and we have people in dedicated poly-amorous relationships. Pretty much every discussion I've seen about that sort of thing just ends like "It's not my cup of tea, but it's your life."

While there are the occasional rude comments, they usually get told to get tolerant or get out. The awesome thing about this site is that we're all adults who understand that other adults sometimes do things we wouldn't do ourselves.

I've also seen some very constructive discussions on topics like this (such as "Transgender VS transgendered VS transexual") that I think really open up peoples eyes to things that they never thought about.

I definitely think so. Though in every roup there can be a couple of bad apples. But overall I think that the community is very LGBT friendly. Anyone who wants to ruin it can try to get through me!

This. Yes! Especially about eye opening and being tolerant of others doing things differently. There's a lot of that here. Bad apples, yes, a few, but more good than bad here.

Why wouldn't it be? This seems to be the wrong section for this thread, though?

I've really learned a lot about the social dynamics of different lifestyles from what I grew up with.

Really though, as long as there aren't personal attacks, no one uses the P word and it stays educational and open, it's all good.

Once no one brings up "privilege", the whole thing degenerates and it gets ugly.

Exactly! I have written an article that I am *fingers crossed* hoping will appear in the next few weeks about passing and how it feels when you do, and... when you don't. I plan to write more in the coming months! But so far, even with not so much added in the trans* section, I feel like this is a wonderful place to learn and grow and listen to others.

I feel Eden is a wonderful community to all individuals regardless of sexual orientation, lifestyle, experience, etc. Everyone is open and friendly and hatefulness is not tolerated on here and should be reported to the forum moderator.

That would be great! I have some trans* friends, and would love to hear from other members of the community on their experiences and opinions.

Sorry for the section confusion. In my experience, LGBT issues have been highly political, so I thought this was an appropriate forum for it. What other sections would you suggest for future posts on this topic?

I feel that it is incredibly friendly to that group of individuals. Some have said off things, but that is not representative of Edenfantasys as a company.

I have gotten the general impression from the staff and community on EF, that when it comes to sex toys and sex issues the straight and queer communities have more in common than most people think. Hey, if someone has any good advice to make anal anymore fun I'm happy to hear it regardless if it comes from a male/female/straight/t rans/gay/lesbian/etc. I think most EF users feel the same.

That's fantastic and nothing could make us happier to hear [read]!! We feel it's important to discuss these things and it thrills us to no end when we see a discussion that is informative and respectful of differing view points.

There have been places where I'm comfortable, and places where I feel a bit 'meh', like they don't fully understand, but they aren't ever mean.
