I said other as we're cohabiting. We're about to have our two-year anniversary

"dating" didn't really feel like the right word, but we're also not engaged yet.

I chose dating although my man and I are far more committed to each other than two people who are dating.. We've been together for 3.5 years and have been through a lot together. We fully intend to stay together forever and will get married one of these days, when life has settled down a bit and we are in a position to do so.

ditto...except with my partner, not your guy. That'd be weird, at least for me (I've never met him). But we're just past 2 1/2 years together.

I'm technically married, but we've been separated since March and I'm currently dating someone else. I haven't filed for divorce yet and I'm not sure I plan to anytime soon.

I chose "other". We have been together for 13 1/2 years and are very committed to each other, however we are a same sex couple and cannot marry in our state.

Wow. 13 and a half years! That's amazing! I would have been fine if you wanted to pick married. I understand. I'm sure you see yourselves as married, even if you aren't technically!

Thanks yes, we do see ourselves as married.. haha. I'm lucky to be "married" to my best friend! I feel completely lucky to have found the other half of my soul.

I am married and we also have a Life Partner. I've been married 20 years this year and we've been a triad for 3 years. We are a MFM hinged triad with me as the pivot.

That's similar to me! Been married for close to 3 years. It will be 3 years the end of september. And we've been together for like 4 years and almost 4 months.

That's awesome!! My parents have be married 26 years and it seems like long relationships are getting more and more rare these days. I just read an article about the longest married couple 86 years. That's just amazing!!

Awww that's so sweet!! I have a very dear friend who just last year started being true to herself and went after a same sex partner that has been hitting on her for years. They are amazing together and I have never seen her happier. Your post just reminded me so much of her.

I've been with my bf on and off for 5 years now. We were engaged at one point, but then we had huge problems and we put the brakes on that idea. We've been living together for the last 3 1/2 years, and have 2 kids. We only aren't married because we don't really see a benefit to it. It will cost us money, which we'd rather spend on the house we just bought, or our kids. I personally HATE being in front of large groups of people, I do not like being center of attention. I don't want to do just a courthouse wedding, I don't like that idea. We're happy and fine the way we are and the only thing that will come from being married is my last name will change.
