Ever tried WARM oil for a massage? Oh my nice.

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
I had a "work" related task that gets you a "gift" of exersize and "healthy living" choices from a catalog. I have jump ropes and "office weights", a Body Mass Index Scale...etc. One item in that catalog I DIDN'T already have was a "massage oil warmer" (came with some oils, but they were nasty..tossed them out), but the WARMER is nice. Kind of like a three stage MICRO SIZE electric chaffing dish. Plug it in, add the oil or gel to the little pots and in about ten minutes the are pleasantly warm. I had a back ache and my hubby gave me a rub down with peppermint gel...oh how luxurious.
Ever try WARMING your massage oils or gels???? (TRY IT...it is GREAT).

At home I don't have a warmer, but at the spa where I work we put our massage oils in a warmer. It is a nice little addition but I probably wouldn't get one for home use

I think that's what things like the Jimmyjane massage candles are for... I'd want to know if that type of device would work for my sugaring stuff, though (would save the trips to the microwave). Warm is supposed to be more relaxing.

a wax pot might work for sugaring stuff. I'm not sure if a massage oil armer would be quite warm enough. But I might not know what I'm talking about, I've only tried sugaring once.

We LOVE the JimmyJane AfterGlow Massge Candles. You burn the candles and then use the wax/oil for massage. It was THE hit on Eden and our house last winter. It's a little warm for it right now (offered the man one last night and he looked at me like I was crazy) but it IS lovely when the time is right.

I've warmed regular massage oil in my hands or put the bottle between my legs to warm it, but never used an oil warmer. I have a few old potpourri warmers from the 90s, I was thinking of using them for the left over wax oil in the JimmyJane candles that we have almost used up.

I'm sure I'll try it someday but haven't as of now. We don't do a whole lot of massage - it's fun, but the messy aspect makes it time-consuming

We like them warmed up too. I keep some of our favorites in small to medium size bottles and just set the whole bottle down in several inches of hot water a few minutes before we get started. That way we don't have to throw any leftover oil away or try to get it back in the bottle afterward.

As the months are getting colder in my area, my fiance and I are looking into this. Do you think a baby bottle warmer would work just as well, or should we just go for an actual massage oil warmer? I was looking at a "Golden Touch" warmer on Amazon, and it got good reviews, but it's still a bit pricey for right now. What kind did you get (if you don't mind me asking), and are you happy with it?

I want to get a really good oil to try. Something with a decent scent (not necessary), absorbs nicely.

Medical supply houses sell ULTRASOUND GEL warmers for use in OB GYN offices. Some look pretty clinical, but some are simple and nice looking (for fancy offices). We have three on our nightstands, with our lube always being warmed. (Vaginal and anal lube) and one more with our massage oil. They all come with empty containers!!!

Most of the time, we use the massage candles. So the warming of the oils is just something we prefer
