Anniversary Gift Ideas/Advice

My anniversary with my boyfriend is coming up and I was thinking about what I should get him/if I should get him anything. We agreed not to make it a huge deal like some couples can, just make it something more intimate and personal. I just asked for flowers so I can dry & frame one as a keepsake but I don't know if I should give him something in return. So EF - do you and your significant other exchange anniversary gifts? How much do you spend/what type of gift is it? Obviously I know my significant other best, if I want to give him something personal it'll be something only I can give him, but I'm just curious what other couples have done and looking for inspiration. Even cliché gifts can be personalized and made special sometimes (:
