I think if anything, some pet names (that are complimenting) can add to rather than take away. I know I feel damn good every time any "sexy lady!" comes out of his mouth. Even the "Mrs. B" or just baby really makes me feel good. I mean after 5 years you'd think "baby" would get old, but when he does occasionaly say it, I'm reminded of something sweet. Not sure what it is about it, but it does make me say "Aww!" Lol.

It's ridiculous to assume that something like that has an effect on sex. I find it to be much more intimate and far less formal. Only my mother calls me by my name and only when I'm in trouble. less

I have tons of "pet names" for my dogs and my boyfriends. Theyre usually really silly but I mostly call my bf "lover", even tho I call my dogs "lover" too. I often call stuff I love "lover".... "loverface" or "lover-butt" are common as well.

I've never seen a correlation between sex life and pet names...and I tend to use cutsey nicknames for most of my friends regardless of romantic relationship, so doubt it really means anything
