I was talking to a few friends about this and it was split evenly down the middle. I love surprising my SO with something, how about you?
Do you buy gifts for each other on your anniversaries?

I get one for my wife but she usually doesn't get one for me.

Depends if we make plans for a trip or something like that.

Only sometimes
09/23/2012
Sometimes, we don't expect it.
09/23/2012
Sometimes we do.
09/23/2012
Only sometimes, we usually just go out to eat at a nice restaurant.
09/23/2012
No, neither of us can afford it. We go to the place where we had our first kiss.
09/23/2012
Sometimes, sometimes we just go out or do something romantic and free together

It depends on if we have any extra money.
Back in April for our tenth, I got my hubby a collectible model car, a championship hat and jacket of his favorite Nascar race driver. He loved it, but he didn't get me anything in return.

Most years something small - but we always do a nice dinner. The time together is more valuable.
09/24/2012
nope. to be honest we don't even know the date of our anniversary!
09/24/2012
Yes, always.
BUT...it has to be something we have made for the other person. When we got together, we were always making small things for the other person and after our first anniversary we decided to make that part of our celebration.
The items my husband has made for me are some of my most treasured possessions. I can't help but feel good and smile every time I use, see or think about these things. I have to admit, my favorite is the oak bar shaped like a Gibson guitar neck, though. He worked on that fro about 7-8 months. The 10" thick oak was left over from the middle of decorative log application he put on a resort building. It is about 5'wide, 11"thick and is 10' long, but the time he took to make it perfect--wow!! I am so lucky!!

We don't bother with gifts.
09/24/2012
Our first priority is going out on a date and if we can afford it then we buy gifts.
09/24/2012
We do on occasion but neither of us feel obligated to. It's just nice to be together; we don't have to celebrate that beyond our day to day living together.
09/24/2012
I always do, but it's only sometimes that we exchange them.
09/24/2012
Sometimes, but usually we just decide to do something together and skip gifts. We are getting rid of the kids the 13th of October. (Thank you mom!) And we are checking out some of the areas Haunted houses.

sometimes
09/24/2012
Sometimes we exchange gifts but nothing elaborate or expensive because we most of the time we buy things we want when we want (finances allowing, of course). We did buy gifts much more consistently the first ten years or so - we've been together 19 years - but one thing we have always done is dinner at a nice restaurant. Sometimes things line up and we have tickets to a show near our anniversary to go along with dinner.

Yes. I like to exchange gifts. It is thoughtful
09/25/2012
Unless it's a year long one, I don't want to
09/26/2012
We've always gotten gifts. When we couldn't in person, he'd buy me some new armor or weapons on the MMO we played or something. lol
I wouldn't want to get gifts if he was one of those silly monthly / half a yearly anniversary people. I think that's excessive and silly.

Yes even though I don't classify our "relationship" as a relationship, we do exchange gifts on our anniversary
