That's what it sounds like to me -- which is kind of a disappointment.

How is it decided who gets push assignments, I wonder? Only asking because, in the nearly a year that I've been here -- I've never been offered a push assignment. Not that I'm complaining... just curious.

It is a disappointment if that's the case. I really liked searching for the "bonus" reviews. I check it nearly every day. Plus when we can pick it's more likely we'll get something we'd like rather than a push out of 10-20 products without us looking at them.

I liked it, too. I've only had luck getting two MSR reviews, but I always checked it regularly. It was nice... I was sad to see that feature gone today.

It sounds as if we can no longer request a manufacture sponsored one at all. Just our free Eden one. If you get picked they may push one to you. Is this correct because that is the way that I am reading it.

If that's the case -- I'm still very curious about how push assignments are assigned. It seems that most contributors do not get push assignments -- I only ever hear of the same people getting them. I'm not complaining at all, I'm just genuinely curious.

I agree, I get a DR every few months but I think that I've only ever gotten two pushes in the year + I've been here, and most people I see that get pushes are newer users... I think that it might be random and we just take it a bit personally.

Push assignments are usually sent to people without assignments.

Think of it is this way - from now on there will be two types of assignments outside of DRs and buy-outs: push and your monthly free assignment.

Yeah, I think that's what she's saying. The only way to get a non DR non buyout product will to be pushed it or to request it as your monthly product.

I agree, I only found out about the whole DR thing last week and I thought that it was pretty cool.

No, DRs are still going on, you can still sign up for those! You just can't request MF assignments anymore. I'd be heartbroken if the DR program shut down!

But I agree that this is a bummer, especially because it gave me an incentive to finish my assigned review early. I always made sure to get it done in a few days in case something really neat showed up under MF sponsored! (I'm pretty sure that's how I got my Tsunami...)

DRs are a totally different program; those have always been pushed to people in the program and that's that. It hasn't changed.

Wow, lots of changes around here. Is there a post topic on suggestions for change from the reviewers/community?

i've gotten a few push assignments. JR emails me if one is available and he thinks it'd be one i'd wanna do. you have to be active, do decent amount of reviews, talk in forums, etc

I am pretty sure not a whole lot has changed. You can still have both at the same time. The last request I made, on the 30th of July, I thought was an EF sponsored item, but when I looked back at the review, it was sponsored by Doc Johnson. I was just now able to request, both a 'not available for purchase' item (which looks to be the MSR/push available products) and also another item which is available for purchase, which I would assume is the EF sponsored item. Not sure if both will be approved, but I was able to request another assignment before I thought I would be able to.

I think EF is very generous with what it gives us as reviewers and I am thankful for any free assignment I am given. They are trying to make it easier for us to request products, so let's all give it a chance!

You could always send multiple requests at once -- even for EF sponsored items. It's just that only one of those requests would be approved.

Dr's are the reviews on the product page. You can find out more information in the FAQ. DR stands for descriptive reviews.

Which is exactly my point...it doesn't seem like too much has changed. It just how the search is formatted. They are tryin to make it easier for us to see what is available for review. I have yet to have luck with getting approved for one yet, though. I've put in three requests with the new system and all of them have been cancelled. One seemed like it would have been an MSR and the other two EF ones. Oh well...guess I will just keep trying!

Thanks for the heads up, Stormy and Gary! I've requested a few MSR's before but haven't been approved. Oh well! Perhaps I'll get a push assignment sometime!

For those of you involved in the DR program, aside from sending an email to the address listed in the FAQ, is there anything else you must do to be involved? I sent an email about a month ago, but never heard anything back one way or another.

I had put in a request also but I haven't heard back.
