I finished my 3 for the day this morning. This is a good week for reviews.

Wow, huge back log! I'm not an editor, so I can't be of any assistance here, but..wow. Hopefully they all get a chance to be published soon. I know how frustrating it can be to wait for a review to get published.

I'm waiting for a reviewer to get back to me so I can publish the one I'm holding.

The current rotation should end at the end of the month, so you should hear something in about two and a half weeks. If it follows the pattern it has been though, it is likely that Sammi will choose all new editors so that more people have a chance to proofread.

It is frustrating for me to watch the numbers of reviews sitting there that I can't help with, so I know it is twice as frustrating for those waiting to be published. Some of these have been here since I woke up this morning.

With double points for reviews, the backlog isn't likely to improve.

I PMed Gary about the possibility before we started the week, but he said that it has not been a problem in past double points weeks. Perhaps this is different - as people are not getting double points in other ways, people are more encouraged to post numerous reviews.

We are now up to 32. NO ONE below a 5.5 post a review tomorrow!

*Edit - 35 reviews now waiting.

It's pretty rare that this happens, as many of you having trouble trying to find 3 reviews in the market a day can attest. This does give some editors who haven't had many to edit to get a few extras

I hope so! Right now, we would need 14 people to handle the backlog for the day.

How many editors are on a rotation?

I just did three more reviews because it is a new day. There is still a crazy amount in the task market. I am very happy that everyone wants to write reviews though. It is nice seeing the task market so full lately.

I did my three before I went to bed too. I see 23 waiting right now. I think we may find ourselves finishing these for a day or two after Review Amnesty Week is over.

The wait time for a review to publish is technically 3 Weeks, so waiting an extra day or two is not unreasonable given that the majority of reviews now publish the same day they are submitted.

When I edited two rotations ago, and even during double point weeks, there were never back logs. I think this is a unique situation. I think your theory about people getting double points from other activities cause fewer reviews than at the moment is absolutely true.

Good luck, editors! People are cranking them out.

I wonder if they would bring in some old editors just for the rest of the week to pick up the backlog?

We have three days to turn them in, but reviewers are told that it can take up to three weeks for them to be published. I think that timeframe is a holdover from before the editor program came into being, but having to wait a few days for publication is not unreasonable.

Same here, I wish I could be editing reviews. I am always looking for things to do here in EF, hence lurking in the forums.

Thanks, P'Gell. I had wondered about that - if there had been much of a backlog during previous double posts weeks.

It sounds like we will be taking some days into next week to finish up whatever doesn't get published this week.

Sammi has been very fair about making sure everyone who wants a turn gets one in time. I am sure you will get a chance soon.

There are around 30 editors this round

Editors have 3 days to edit a review once they have claimed it from the task market, but as Kindred and Petite Valentine said, it can take up to three weeks for reviews to be published once they're submitted. It's a holdover in a sense, but it's still applicable to submitted reviews (which includes descriptive reviews).
