Do you respond to comments on your reviews?

Contributor: - Kira - - Kira -
Not sure if this is the right section to put this in. I figured it went with rating reviews, so I took my best guess.

Anyhow, lots of people comment on reviews. Some simply say "thanks" while others comment about something specific in the review. Do you comment back (on the review) to these comments? Or do you comment back on the wall of the person that left the comment? Will you only respond in certain circumstances?

I've noticed on some reviews that a contributor will have commented back to everything, some not at all, and some on just specific comments. I'm just wondering what everyone does and why they do it.

I try to but sometimes I forget to check back on my reviews. When I remember I feel really bad because they have been there for so long. I need to remember to set alerts.

That reminds me I need to go check my reviews.

If it is a substantive question, I will typically answer on my review (for the sake of other readers) but also on the person's personal page since not many go back to reviews to check for answers.

If they are the typical "Thanks" type comment, I will usually give a generalized "You're welcome" after every few.

I do when I catch them, may not be right away but I get to them.

Sometimes, but I refuse to comment back to or ty, these comments are flagged on my reviews. I flag them, you should at least type thanks and I will say welcome. I respond to questions an the comments and the contributors wall, since they may not return to the review.

This to a T.

About the only comment I do not respond to is when the comment is just a Smiley...kind of hard to respond to those.

If it's a question, or something specific I do my best to answer.
If they are "Great review" or something, I say thanks after a few of them

I always respond to everything. I've been getting a TON of smiley comments in the last two or three weeks. There's nothing to say back to that. Maybe another opposite faced smiley? Or the little shrugging one you put in your post just now. lol

I respond to the person asking the question and will respond on the comments section if I remember.

I always try to reply to questions, and usually to the more substantial comments. I don't think I'd ever be able to keep up with replying to *everything* though.

Am I the only one that gets kinda annoyed when I get a notification about a new comment, go to the review to read it, and then it's a smiley face or something? I really appreciate people taking the time to read, but if you're going to leave a comment, leave a comment!

I respond to questions. I don't usually respond to thank you comments. I think those are sort of useless.

I get super annoyed with the smiley comments. I usually have about 50 notifications from Eden by the time I wake up which is followed by who knows how many during the day. It takes a fair amount of time to click through and respond to comments and I don't mind doing it. Don't waste my time in reading the email, clicking the link, waiting for loading, and scrolling through the page just to see " " I know it may not seem like it took a lot of time but multiply that out by the 2 or 3 times a day it happens and the number of reviews I have and you'll see why it gets old. It doesn't take much effort to type "thank you" instead of a smiley.

I try and reply to all comments, even if it is just a thank you. Sometimes I'll reply on a person's wall, but not very often.

If someone has a few questions or even one, I'll try to leave them a comment on their wall so they will see it.

I usually only comment if they ask a question. If it's just to say thanks then I don't worry about it.

I respond to questions or more lengthy comments of substance, but it feels silly to say "thanks" to every "good review"

I respond a little. I don't check up on my past reviews constantly. If someone wants to ask something specific, they should message me.

I always respond on the review page, though I know I should respond on the member's page so they get a notification! I try to make sure my reply has about the same much content/took as much effort as what I'm replying to as well - an emoticon will only get an emoticon in response, and so forth.

If it's a specific question, I make sure to direct the answer at them when I respond in the comments section. Otherwise I try and say thanks for the feedback after every so many.

I try to, it can be hard cause I am not sure what to say to just thank yous. If someone says more then that I tend to respond on their wall thanking them if it was just more then a thank you. Or I will respond there in the thread in hopes that they see it.
