You'll probably want to start off with silicone. And make sure to use a lot of water based lube.

I would recommend away from glass to start anal play... go with Silicone until you know what you like. The rigidness of glass take some getting used to.

Get silicone. Glass is stiff and slick which is fun BUT can lead to mistakes, pokes, and pain.

I'd try the new anal beginners kit from EF that sweetpea suggested. You want small and material that has some give at first.

I'd start with a small silicone plug, like one by Tantus or Happy Valley. Glass is too hard and forgiving for first-time anal explorations, IMO.
