Absolutely. In fact I recommend mutual anal play. Having experienced what anal penetration is like - the art of going slow, of pausing to allow for 'acceptance' - all of these things help your partner understand how to do it so that it feels great instead of hurting.

Too many guys have seen pounding anal sex in porn - that's for the pros only.

Learn about it together - you'll both be better off in the end

Learning with your partner can definitely be valuable, but so can learning on your own. When you're alone you don't have to worry about someone else's pleasure, you can concentrate totally on the task at hand. You don't have to worry about your partner going too fast or hard. Also not everyone has a partner available for such things.

I think one should only ask their partner to anal train if one knows their partner is not adverse to such subjects. For example, I know my significant other does not like messing with the butt, so I won't ask him to help put in my butt plug. I also know that he will never put anything in his butt either. So, I'll just not ask.

If both parties are up to it, sure. I appreciate my husband learning what feels good for him, then teaching me how to make it feel good for him as well. But when it came down to my anal training, I needed my husband present in order for me to be able to relax. So yes! My partner should help me during anal training; but who are we kidding, like he'd be anywhere else.

I doubt I would have bothered with it on my own. My Man helped train me, and we are both pretty happy with the outcome.

It took about a month, starting with gentle finger play, (we tried toys, but I didn't like them until after we actually had anal intercourse) and going into more and more intense activities, until we were able to have anal sex. We do frequently now. The feeling is so intense and fantastic. I don't know WHY we waited as long as we did to get around to starting with it. I guess I was scared. There is NOTHING to be scared about, if you are careful, take your time, use lube, and stop if it hurts. Always enjoy yourself and say NO if you don't want to at that time.

We found fingers and hands easier to train with than toys, but everyone is different.

Anal play, for sure. But what the heck is training? Is it like training for a marathon or something?

As a male who loves anal stimulation, I answer yes in both directions. Yes I would like my partner to share/learn with me both giving and receiving. As someone else said, that is the joy of a sexual relationship, learning how to pleasure each other.

Sure, if the marathon is anal sex. It's usually a bad idea to jump straight into anal intercourse, so people "train" with fingers, and smaller toys. I have a wishlist called "anal training regimen" which is the toys I plan on using to prepare myself for comfortable anal sex.

Anal sex and anal play isn't like PIV sex in many ways. The anus often needs to learn how to relax to accept pleasure.

With anal training, one's partner or oneself gradually plays with the anus, starting with small things, or just playing with the opening, so that pleasure comes naturally with no pain. Gradually, larger toys or more fingers and eventually a penis or dildo or larger plug can be introduced.

It's the way a lot of couples get into anal play.

Our training took about a month or more from just rimming or simulated rimming through digital penetration and eventually to penis and toys. Everybody's body and mind and love map is different, so the time will vary.

Lube, as is always said, is absolutely necessary.

Sure, but only if they are comfortable with it. If the wife did not want to help out, I would not hold it against her.

Absolutely. My husband has been there with me from the very beginning of my anal training. He loves to help me discover new sensations. We both have talked about what I like and dislike, and I have not looked back. I am completely comfortable with my husband helping me, and I trust him completely. We still take things nice and slow, and we use tons of lube.

If he or she is into it then absolutely, but if they are not, there is nothing stopping you from going at it solo. Give them the option but we each have our own preferences.
