For someone who has never had any type of prostate toy, which of these seem to be the best? It is hard to select a toy for a male when I am female and need some help!

What is his experience with anal play? Your list has quite a range in sizes and some may not be appropriate if he is a beginner.
How does he hope to use it? Solo or as a couple?
Is he looking for something that will stay in for a hands-free experience? Or is manipulating with his/your hands okay? Not all of these are likely to stay in on their own.

I voted for the Nexus G-play as that was my first anal specific toy. But I will echo what Kindred has said.
If he/you has not play around back there it may be better to just start with fingers. He will need to learn to relax before those toys can be comfortably introduced. Otherwise it may be a bad experience for him.
Now if he has some experience already, you need to decide what type of butt play he/you are looking for. The Cheeky Boy, Rude Boy and G-play are on the smaller end so they may be a good starting point but the Cheeky and Rude boy are going to give firm pressure to the prostate. Furthermore they do not stay in very well. The Gyro and G-rider are quite big for a beginner, think three fingers, so based on experience that may not be a good start.
I see that you have the Sphere, have you thought about trying that one? It is Silicone so you can share and it is fairly small. Just a thought.

Lelo's Billy might seem a bit pricy option, but it should be one of the best for the beginners, I think. All the "boys" and "nexuses" have quite a specific shape which may be painful for the first-timers.

If he can take the size the Gyros are neat toys and they're flexible. You can wiggle on them, use them with your hands, or even thrust - but they're big enough to not be first-time toys. The Talon is small enough to work as a first time toy and it's pretty stimulating for its size, but you have to be careful to not get too extreme with it otherwise it can slide all the way in. A few quiet try-outs is best to get the feel for it.
Fingers are a great start, and a plug such as the Bootie can be used to give some prostate stimulation as well.

I was torn between the G-play medium and the Cheeky Boy. The Rude Boy would probably be okay as well, but the G-Rider and the Gyro Xtreme might be too large for a first timer. The Talon has the potential to slip inside, as ScottA mentioned, so that rules that one out in my book. The bead-like nature of the Cheeky Boy makes it intriguing, but I think the G-play medium would be more versatile.

I might also go with anal beads or a plug, unless you're really looking for prostate stimulation. There are some less expensive options in these areas, it kinda sucks buying an $80-90 toy that he might only use a few times.

He has never experienced anal play at all. So I would say beginner! Couple plan would be great that is hands-free.

He is fine with finger play, we have just never used any anal toys. I bought him a set one time but it was broken when it got here and we never were able to use it.

After he read about the p-spot toys he seems interested and I want to surprise him!

My man is a total beginner too. We have the Euphoria Enhanced. It is rigid plastic, but it is designed for hands free prostate stimulation. He loves this toy, but sometimes it feels a little big for him, so we really have to work him up and use my finger first. The Aneros line has a few that are slighter smaller in diameter, but they are also more expensive. Hope that helps!
12/05/2010
Yep, Bootie is a plug. Jimbo - the reason I didn't recommend the Cheeky Boy (I do like it) is because the curve makes it difficult to insert, and if a user isn't experienced/comfortabl e with anal toys they might find it difficult and/or uncomfortable.
Another thing to try is a G-spot vibe or wand (Tantus G-force is a wand example) I recommend silicone, but these can be very fun. Just make sure to keep your hand holding it if there isn't a flange (looking for one with a stop would be the best). Note the G-force is to long to easily get lost.

For a first timer, I would look for something made of silicone, my personal preference. I think a material with a little give would be better than a hard material such as glass. I would also look for a toy with just a slight curve for prostate stimulation, nothing that has too pronounced of a curve. Also, stay around 1" to 1-1/8" or so and not much larger. Based on those criteria, I would say for a hands-free type toy, consider the Bootie or the G-Play Medium which has a vibe. For a more wand-like toy that can be used solo or together, consider the Bob, G-force, or Billy.
Another option would be if you had a smaller curved dildo, ideally one with a flared base for safety. He could try that to start and see how he likes the experience.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this, but the Silk Small by Tantus is an excellent choice. My first anal toy, and I'm still loving it 6 months later. It's small size and lack of texture makes it very unintimidating for a novice.

Sometimes you'd run up against the "oh no, that's a dildo - it's not going in my ass!" response that you might not get from a non-dildo toy.

They are, but they have a much bigger learning curve and the stimulation is more subtle.

The G play medium is on my wish list and I've heard a lot of great things about it. What did you decide on?

I think for a beginner the Aneros-like Nexus massagers might be better than an Aneros, just because they're easier to "drive" with the hands and the big round ball feels much better than the Aneros' disk.

All of those look a bit large or intense for a beginner toy.

Medium i find is a good starter, at least it was for me.

Hello, I know this was posted a few months back but I highly recommend the Talon prostate massager. It is just right for a beginner and will stay in if you don't lube it too much. Upon insertion, it directs itself right to the P-spot and can induce some precum if allready arroused beforehand. I hope it's ok to us those words here. I do not want to affend anyone. I've had mine for over a year now. Very well made and the shape is internaly perfect. Now I wish they made it a little bigger. 1 1/4" diameter would be perfect. Hope this helps.
How lucky he is to have such a sharing wife.

why kdlips is that wrong to do so?

I would get the cheeky boy. I have had mine for a while, and it seems to be good for your purposes. He gets to have the experiences of a prostate massager, anal beads, and a vibrator. It is a slim diameter, and not too lengthy. I love mine and it seems right for a beginner.

try something that vibrates, but isn't too big. You want to do more than show what it's like to have something up the butt, you want to show how good it can feel.
