I wouldn't really trust materials found around the house, and I don't think I could buy pure silicone to make into toys.

Oh I don't only mean around the house stuff, but anything one can use safely, meaning that you would obtain and/or buy the needed stuff for it, I do think it's more than possible and there are people who make them, not only industries...

My boyfriend and i are working on making some silicone ones that wed eventually sell. Im excited, its super easy if you know how. Were going to atart sculpting the mock ups after the holidays.

I love playing with silicone, its really easy to use just expensive. But for about 120 the amount of silicone youd get could produced a lot of things.

I made a ceramic dildo when I was in high school. Smoothed it and sealed it well, and it worked nicely until I was old enough to buy my own toys.

I get one from a store near my house. Im an effects artist so i always buy stuff. But trying to think what site, maybe fx warehouse might sell it online, i know they sell the kind that goes on peoples skin and i think mold making silicone, id have to check if they sell food grade or 100% there.

Ill more than likely post pictures of the process here on eden.

Nah. I don't know enough about how to safely construct one of those. Lol. Plus, it's easier to just buy something like that.

If I knew how, I would love to make a dildo that was shaped just like I wanted, but have a conveniently placed handle for self-thrusting.

I also remember reading in a sex book, the author recommended sculpting toys out of food - something like a potato, and with a condom over it for safety - to figure out what shapes you like.

Huh, smart idea! ~nods in agreement

It popped into my head a few Nights ago too btw, if you ever made those things using salty dough when you were kids, and then after you shaped them good you painted them up, and they stayed like that forever...
I was just thinking for a moment, what if I could figure everything out about it, and just make cool dildos and vibes, painted with safe paint never coming off, that would be friggin awesome!!!

Anyone who is hoping to make their own silicone dildo should seriously look into Sugru, silicone putty that you can mold with your hands and after 30 minutes of air curing it will become firm, flexible, but set in it's shape.

really? Sugru? I would love to make a cock ring with a bullet that was custom tailored. I want to orient a bullet longwise. It always irritates her when it's across. I'm thinking sleeve with the bullet on the bottom!
