I have been really interested in either of these but am a bit worried about how much bigger the XL really is. If I read the specs on the page they are identical so I'm looking for a bit of input.

Really just looking for everyone's opinion on these so I can try to pick the one best for me .

The big difference is in the profile. The Share's wide point is near the base, and the shaft is narrow. If you're pegging then it's possible that you don't ever get to the "big part" and likely will stay at around 1-1/2" diameter. On the XL it's all the big part, so you will get stretched to the 1=7/8" diameter.
I have the Tiger, which has similar textures. You can feel the ridges, but they're rounded so unless you're using them anally and are not relaxing they're very comfortable and stimulating. They're also spaced enough that you can feel the difference between ridge and no ridge rather than having it blend together (unless you're thrusting really fast.
Can't speak about either from the giver's side, though.

If you can handle the ridges then the XL will be very stimulating. How are you planning on using the toy? Whether it's going to be used vaginally or anally (on the getter's end) can make a difference.

It will mostly be used anally, we have used The witty worm in a similar fashion, so I don't think the ridges will be a problem as long as they aren't overly pronounced. I'll have to see if any of out other toys are of a similar size and go from there.

Meowmix will this be your first doubles strapon? I'm currently looking for my first and I'm planning to get the Nexus Maximus. People can obviously tell you how they would vote for their position but depending on your experience level one or both of these maybe too large for starting out.

This will be the first Double strapon yes. They look like they could be quite fun, using a harness can be a bit of a hassle mid stride. I think the share would be alright on size so I might go with that one gonna think on it for a bit and go from there.

I have the Fun Factory Tiger, which is a very similar design to the getter's end of the Share XL. At first I did need to make a conscious effort to keep relaxed, because if you tighten up the ridges do get a bit uncomfortable after a long ride. Now that I have better control over my anus it feels great. The ridges and "head" are very stimulating, both to the anus and prostate, and occasional clenching feels good (you just need to remember to only do it for a short time and then relax).
If you're experienced with anal toy play and can stay anally relaxed pretty well I think you'd love the XL.

Keep in mind that the getter will need to be able to relax for the XL to be comfortable, since it has so much more texture.

I personally own/use the purple share (not xl, just the regular one) for pegging. We've found that for us, it's the right size (if not a little bit of a stretch). The other thing to keep in mind is the size of the pony end. For just the regular Share, it's pretty big (for me at least).
