Which of these would be the best for taking on a plane?

Contributor: potstickers potstickers
I'm traveling by air for the holidays, and want to know which toys would be best for taking in carry-on luggage. I won't be checking bags, and I'm hoping to avoid any hold-ups or awkward scenes at the airport. I don't want the TSA agents to have to inspect anything. Plus, they might want to "confiscate" my toys.

I would say that a silicone dildo or a glass dildo could work in a carry on as long as it is a discreet design and doesn't really resemble a penis. If you go with glass though make sure there is enough protection for it.

I agree. I think a vibe might get confiscated.

You can probably get on a plane with a sword, just so long as you don't stow it in your underwear. On a serious note, I think a vibe is a poor choice. Personally, I wouldn't take anything on a plane, because I'm too much of a wuss to admit it's a sex toy if questioned, and I'm not comfortable with the idea of lying to folks whose job it is to protect, no matter how inept the system for which they work.

I would choose a silicone dildo, because the material is soft and safe, and not seen as a weapon and also, because there is no metal.

You don't think the airline would be concerned about taking glass????? They flip out over tweezers which wouldn't be as harmful as glass (if it was to be broken).

I would go with the silicone dildo cause it's solid and isn't going to harm anyone. And as lamira said - theres no metal parts.

Over here, I wouldn't be so worried about taking any types of toys when flying within the country. But we don't have the high terrorist fears here.
I plan on taking my toy case full with me when I go on my holiday next year. I can't go without taking some of my babies! Hehehe

A lot of people go with little pocket rockets with the batteries taken out. The main point is to bring something that you don't care so much about in case they take it. And if you bring something vibrating, please take the batteries out.

Vibrating objects definitely attract most attention, so avoid them at all costs.

I'm curious, how likely is it that they will keep them? I don't want to take a heap with me and have them keep them! That would be devastating.

There's alway a chance a security guy will get suspicious. Don't want to risk it, you'd better put your toys in the check-in baggage.

Ahhhh ok.
I was going to carry them on cause I'm worried about my luggage going missing....hehehehe.
But I'll insure my bag and will check them in then. Rather those odds!
Cheers

Or you could ship them to your destination, and ship them home again when you leave. I'd trust UPS or FedEx over an airline luggage sorter any day.

The only way to by 100% sure to avoid awkward scenes is to avoid putting them in carry-on bags. I'd probably check my bags.

I'm going to my parent's house for the break, so I know they'd get suspicious if I mailed myself a package. I guess my best bet is to just not take my toys.

I also remember last year that the line to check baggage was several hours long. I don't want to risk not getting any toys on the plane (or having to give the toy to my parents to mail!), so I'll just forgo the toys.

Thanks everyone!

There's also the chance you'll get someone who doesn't like sex toys and sees the opportunity to make a scene and hopefully embarrass you.

I've taken most everything in a carry on, except the cherry dong. Nipple clamps and vibes.

Yeah, but if you're careful with your carry on it shouldn't be a problem

This makes me think of genital piercings. Sometimes it seems the sensors are more sensitive. Has anyone ever been wanded for their piercings?

I think you will be perfectly fine to bring a silicone dildo - squishy, soft, and no chance it will start vibrating when you are going through security. If you really want to bring a vibe, either bring a small one and remove the batteries, or lock it and put it in your checked baggage.

Whatever I was bringing, I'd put it in my checked luggage. If that isn't an option, though, I'd go for a silicone dildo that isn't too phallic-shaped. Putting something that vibrates in your carry-on is just a bad idea.

well you can legally carry anything under twelve inches (if i recall correctly). if you're not sure, call the airport. it might be an embarrassing phone call if that kind of stuff irks you, but you do have the right to carry your own luggage, as long as it follows the standards.

Silicone dildo would be your safest bet, but personally I wouldn't bring anything like that with me.
