I know that they are! I need to know when this is coming out!

I have some toys that could use a nice recycling and silicone coating.

I would much rather a company take them than worry that someone would find it (in a trash can/dump) and would use it without knowing better.

Until then if I can not fix it I dismantle, clean and recycle what I can. The rest gets smashed to bits.

I would worry about health code violations.

It would be really cool if parts of the toys could be recycled. Id worried about germs and other things being on the outside of the toy but if internal parts of the toy could be reused that would be good.

I said I don't know because, while I think recycling would be great if it was done right, I'm not so sure it would be by not specialized centers. The potential for ickiness is probably pretty high. Like with medical waste or something...

Oh my, really? That's awesome!

As for the poll, I think sex toys should have their own facilities and not get mixed up with anything else.

On one side it would be really nice to find a place that would properly dispose of sex toys. On the other side Blinker brings up a valid point on health code violations.

If EF came up with a program I would jump on that in a heart beat! EF always seems to take all things into account and I would feel safe recycling with them. And if people returned toys that could be 100% sterilized it would be kind of a neat thing to maybe offer gently used (sterilized) items at discounted prices.

I wish they would, but it might give the public the idea that sex toys are ok and there are conservative groups out there that think that way. Hopefully, that makes sense.

I would love to walk by a bench one day to read: This bench is made from 1000 Rabbit dildos. Thanks for all the pricks!

YES! Anything that can be recycled I always recycle. It is super important that we don't make anymore landfills or huge piles of trash in the ocean.

I'd be scared for sanitation reasons, however if it was for sure sanitary... yeh I think it would be cool to be able to safely recycle toys I don't use anymore.

There is an idea, get the hospital's to take them. They could totally sterilize them, then put them in a recycle bin.

I know it is not that easy but it could happen.

Anything that can be recycled should be recycled. It's better then just throwing it in the trash and having it sit in a pile of junk taking up space some place else.

I agree, these could be put in the same category with medical waste as they come in contact with bodily fluids. I wouldn't want them in a community recycling program. Medical waste has to be taken care of by a special handling hauler. Special "Red Bags" and everything. Even the LAUNDRY in hospitals and doctor's offices has to be handled carefully, due to fluid and blood born contaminants.

It's a good idea, but it ain't gonna happen. Hospitals are strapped for cash like crazy right now, with the economy and so many people who simply can't pay for medical care, but still need it. I think the last thing hospitals will be doing while this swamped is instituting a sex toy recycling program. Only being realistic, because I have a pretty good idea how hospitals work and besides being broke, the medical profession is VERY conservative.

Hospitals recycle LITTLE of anything, (well, paper from clerical work, but then it has to be totally shredded) due to blood and fluid borne illnesses, so I'm not hoping for a sex toy program anytime in.....this century.

It's a good idea, but.....I would be really worried about transmitting infections and such that way.

I think it would definitely be a good idea, but it would get recycled with so many other things and I don't think they would make a separate area for sex toys themselves.

AD: Do you have dozens of old, broken and unused sex toys lying around the house? Did you inherit sex toys from your grandparents that you KNOW you are never going to use? Do you need CASH? NOW? Send your sex toys to "DOLLARS FOR DILDOS" Just put your dildos in the convenient envelope we send you, seal it up and in a few weeks, we send you DOLLARS for your Dildos!

Testimonial: "I had so many butt plugs, I ran outta room and I couldn't get inta my bed, anymore. I sent 'um to Dollars for Dildos and bought a new car with the money they sent me!"

With all the comments people are making about health concerns, isn't it the same thing as trash or other recycling? How many things do we get rid of in either way on a daily basis that come into contact with our mouths, which are also mucous membranes that secrete fluids? Is it really that different? How about sewage that is filtered and put back into the water cycle for consumption? I think it's more and issue of the systems in place than the fact that it can't be done. Sad. Hopefully we will see this change in the future!
