I like both. Alot. Don't think I'd pick one over the other for any reason other than what I'd be wearing over them. If I don't want seams, its a thong. If it doesn't matter, it could be either, really. I tend to think thongs are sexier, but boyshorts more comfortable for long-term wear.
G-strings... that's a different matter. And not a particularly happy or useful matter, at that.
