The reviews seem to be fairly equal for both. I would get red simply cause the color looks nicer.

My husband has black and loves it. I just grabbed him the silver for Christmas, so it hasn't been used yet, but the texture looked more interesting to me than on the red.

I got the black one for my husband. He likes it but finds it difficult to use because it is so heavy.

I've heard better things about the red (vs silver), but I want to try the white one. That is the model that seems to get the best reviews, at least on the points I am interested in.
