I want to try kegel balls for the first time, but I'm not sure which ones I should get. The weight and size of them probably matter, but I don't know where to begin. Also, is a string necessary? From what I've read, it sounds like they come out of their own easily enough. What do you guys think about these products for a beginner such as myself?

I notice that ben wa balls and kegel exercisers (they're the same thing, right?) go out of stock pretty quickly on EdenFantasys. If an item sells like hot cakes, then I just have to try it--especially if it means me becoming even pleasantly tighter than I am, and receiving better orgasms. Which ones should I get?

I would go with the glass balls. Pass on the leopard ones. They have a nylon string that is impossible to clean. It will harbor bacteria.
Personally, my favorite kegel exerciser is my Luna Balls.

For a beginner, I'd recommend going with something like the Luna Balls. The Luna Balls are available in two sizes -- mini, and regular. My understanding is that the regular set was intended more for women who have had children, but I've never had kids and the regulars a great size for me.
The Luna Balls are a little more expensive than the options you listed, but they're totally worth it. They give you multiple choices for the weight, so you can start out lighter, and then work your way up.
For a beginner, I definitely recommend getting a set that has a retrieval cord. The balls won't get lost in you, but from my own experience, it can be a real pain to get balls out without a string when your muscles aren't used to them.

Just a little background: I'm 26 years old, never have had kids, and haven't been sexually active for about 3 months (though I do use penetrative toys from time to time). I'm on the petite end of the scale, and while I try to do my Kegels every day, I sometimes forget (which is why I think I would like giving these a try).
Not sure how much of that is relevant, but I want to make the most educated choice I can before settling on a pair.

I would go for the Luna Mini Pleasure Bead System. They are more pricey but they're well worth the money. I absolutely LOVE mine. I just posted a review if you want to check it out
