A Newbie's experience (and recommendations) with her first three vibrators

I'm going to be doing some reviews on these but I'm sort of still gathering my thoughts and notes and sharing our experience today in hopes that it will help other "newbies" to vibrators.

Because I am a newbie to toys - I wanted to share about our experience with these three vibrators and what we think of them, etc. to help other newbies. I plan to write reviews on these products too but this is more to give some information to help those who might be considering a vibrator for the first time.

As probably everyone who has seen any of my posts knows - my husband and I have been married for over 30 years and just started using vibrators in the last week. We started with the Butterfly Kiss and today we received our other two vibrators that we ordered and spent some time playing with them.

The first note is that having these "toys" increased our playtime from an average of 20 minutes to approximately 45 or 50 minutes (to me it felt like forever and yet not long enough).

We started out with the Butterfly Kiss because that is what we're familiar with and it is smaller in diameter and length than the other two. I will admit that we were both a bit intimidated by the size of the other two when we first saw them.

From there we went on to the ribbed lover and the Opis and we tried to use all three vibrators while in different sexual positions - the missionary position (which we started with), then with me on my knees and then with me laying on my side.

Please remember as I share my thoughts and experiences - that we are "newbies" to this. In a month or two some of my thoughts on these products may change because we will be more used to them.

We found the Opis to work best for us for outside stimulation. To me, it felt hard while inside and was not overly comfortable. The low setting was the best one for me and I really did not like the pulse settings (which I thought I would love). We found the button was too easy to push and put yourself on a different setting and the only way to turn it off was to unscrew the cap.

Don't get me wrong - when taken out of the box - the Opis feels nice - but when it is in me it is just too firm and I am not used to silicone products. Also, it does not have a defined head on the top which we find I need to help my muscles grasp the vibrator and really react to it.

The Opis was quiet whether it was inside me or outside me - and that was pretty nice.

The ribbed lover was a great length for me (although we could have used it a bit longer). While I was on my knees, this was the BEST vibrator for me and it hit the G spot just fine on low rumble. You have to be dead-on to hit the switch correctly and one problem we had with it was that I would sorta pull it all in and then it would be hard to retract. We loved the flexibility of this vibrator and the fact that we could bend it so much to hit the G spot.

Finally - back to the Butterfly Kiss. We still love this product even though it was our first. Yes - it only has 3 settings and we'd love more and yes, we'd love to see it be wider and longer. But, I had my largest orgasm while laying on my side using this vibrator.

As we compared all three vibrators later we decided that the Butterfly Kiss was a great "warm up" vibrator and definitely the "go-to" vibrator for now if we don't have a long period of time to play.

The ribbed vibrator is our favorite "inside" vibrator when I'm on my knees and warmed up - and the Opis is our "outside" vibrator (because he frequently used one vibrator inside and one outside).

My final thoughts on this are:

If you're new to vibrators consider a "starter" one like the Butterfly kiss - then move on to something that is flexible like the ribbed lover. Get used to that before adding a silicone vibrator unless you're already used to a larger lover or using hard things to play with.

I also recommend that if you want to exercise those muscles - make sure that whatever you get has a defined head on it.

I will be looking for our next vibrator in the next week or so because we can't afford another one (yet). I'm thinking about the rabbit or if we could find a butterfly kiss or butterfly something that was wider and longer...but the rabbit seems good. (I'm also open to suggestions).

I hope I've helped at least one newbie by sharing my experience.

Oh - and my hubby was ok with the fact that the vibrators were a bit bigger than he is. He knows that I love him and still would want HIM and that he doesn't have to measure himself against a toy.

But I think it would be good to be able to reassure your partner of this if you're new to vibrators.

Glad to hear you and hubby are having a good time!

The store near my work stocks THREE rows of Butterfly Kisses. They told my husband it was their top selling item and they couldn't keep them on the shelves, thus the three rows. Not surprised to hear that you liked that one.

Rabbits are a next good place to go. (don't buy jelly ones)
