How does everyone clean the head of their Hitachi's?

I've had this and Acuvibe. The Acuvibe's head was easier to clean because it was a smooth, hard surface. Hitachi's head is softer and has tiny little crevices on the surface I've had a hard time cleaning stuff out of.

This is a tough one, because you can't really effectively clean it. You "should" consider throwing a condom over it or a glove or something for ease in cleaning, but we all know that sometimes when the hitachi calls...

I pull the soft ball off the wand head (it comes right off) and give it a good scrub with soap and water, using something that actually scrubs (shower poof, facecloth, whatnot) and that works ok. The material is kinda porous tho, so do be careful about using it if/when you have a yeast infection, or if you find you're getting a lot that could be a possible source. And don't share it without a barrier.

I wonder if you can buy new soft sleeves for hitachis? Hmmmm

Yes when the Hitachi calls.... I was using mine with a condom on it but then used it without. I have cleaned mine with rubbing alcohol. I didn't know the head could come off. I will try it next time and see but I will be upset if I break it.

The white vinyl head of the Hitachi might tear upon removal, but the head can be easily replaced with Vixen's Off With Your Head. It is made of non-porous medical grade platinum silicone!!!

I never used mine directly on my body because it was waaaaay too intense for me. If you want to be cheap about it without having to buy the silicone head attachment (I've always found that thing a little creepy myself), you'd probably be fine just sticking a sock around it. Store it in a sock between uses so it doesn't pick up crud, and put a sock on it for playing so you don't have to rub against that icky vinyl. It's not going to protect you from STIs or anything, but for personal use, I'd just avoid putting the vinyl directly on my skin anyway.
