Here is where I will state my opinion about power, as I already own one of these massagers and have tried it. I have the Hitachi; it’s definitely a ‘power tool’ - I think, if anything, it has more than enough power for anyone’s needs.

I don't have any of these, but this is a fantastic feature. If I was going to buy one I would choose the Miracle Massager or the Hitachi.

Great post! I would like to see the Acuvibe included. We just bought one I'm going to try to do review this weekend. We have the Hitachi and wanted something cordless. I looked at the other 2 but decieded on the Avuvibe instead.

The Hitachi is the king for power. We start on the low setting and move it to high to put us over the top. Their is a very noticeable difference between lo & high on the Hitachi. Only numb once when I used it directly on her clit on high after several orgasms and for an extended peroid of time about 15 minutes.

On that note, I think including the original Miracle Massager would be good.

I recently bought the Ideal, and once finals are over I'll hopefully be able to review it. I can easily get off in a few minutes on the low setting, and the high setting in under a minute. I can't compare it to the Hitachi, as I've never tried one, but this has more than enough power for me! (and noise to match) The first time I turned it on, we jokingly called it a chainsaw for the pussy and back.

I do numb up a little (but not completely) after a while: after about 10 minutes on high, or about 15-20 minutes on low. However, given the speed at which this rips out the orgasms, I don't really need more than that very often...

I love this idea! Thank you EF As for Hitachi's power, on a scale of 1-10, she's a 25. More than enough to get anyone there.

Yeah, I have the Hitachi equivalent that they sell in Australia, It's a perfect technical clone of the Hitachi but complies with our power standards. It's a great toy in many ways but sometimes it can feel like you're masturbating with a jackhammer.

Hitachi and the similar products are super strong which is great... you can always experiment a bit with putting a thin layer between if it's too strong but I agree.. for some it's just overpowered and not comfortable.

I would think that both lines/arguments should be visible at the same time to show comparisons - and contrasts. BTW, I vote for Hitachi.

Here is where I give my view on power source. The Hitachi is a corded vibe, so aside from it not being portable, there is no issue with the power being consistent. However, I am skeptical about The Ideal by Natural Contours because it is battery operated and might not have enough power or stay fully charged for long.

The cord on the Hitachi needs to be longer unless you have a nighstand with an outlet or are near an outlet. We use an extension cord on our with no problems

I agree that the Hitachi cord seems awfully short and we always use it with an extension cord.

The Ideal's rechargeable, so I don't have to do the Toy Cord Tango, but I do appreciate that the charging cord is long enough to reach from the power strip on the floor across my desk to where I leave it charging (or would reach up into my toy drawer if I had to hide it). So far it's held a charge pretty well, and I've never needed the full advertised 1 hour. Having to charge it for 5 hours seems rather excessive, but I just plug it in when I leave in the morning, and by the time I get back it's ready for playtime.

I like how my Hitachi’s head has some give to it, but I wish it were a little more flexible. There is no texture on the Hitachi head – I wonder if the others feel the same.

The head can be a little rough when you are dry. It does have some texture to it on bare skin.

Within its range of motion, the Ideal is fairly springy, but that range of motion is rather limited, and it has less and less give the closer to the edge of its range you get. I took a peak inside, and it's mounted on an intimidating looking spring, so this makes sense. I like the range of motion on the Ideal: it's got enough to conform to whatever, ahem, location you chose for it, but it's stiff enough to get some pressure going on. It's a good balance.

There is a very slight texture to the head of the Ideal. It's kind of like the velvety/rubbery coatings you find on other toys, just enough to give you some friction without feeling like there's a specific texture going on.

Hitachi has a little give, but not enough for a serious toy grinder. It makes a rattling noise when you start to go too far.

The Hitachi is reliable but there are drawbacks, like size and noise. If the others were just as powerful but quieter, that would be great. I worry that anything so powerful will overheat and want to find out if the others do.

The Hitachi is loud and when you add certain attachments (Tri Pod) the volume increases. Haven't had a problem with over heating after about 15 minutes of use does start to get warm. Heavy to hold for very long.

I didn't notice the Hitachi getting any louder when the Tri Pod was on it, but maybe I'll need to revisit that. It's weight does get to be a problem for her during a lengthy masturbation session. I have more freedom to adjust my position while using it on her.

The Ideal is loud, but as I haven't heard a Hitachi I can't really compare them. On low, I could barely hear it through a closed door, while on high I could definitely hear it (this is just turning it on and dropping it on the bedspread, about 3 feet from the door). It does warm up after a while, but it never got so hot that I got worried.

Well, the Ideal, being rechargeable.. needs to be recharged. You're not supposed to use it while plugged in. So it might be more travel friendly but if you grab it and it's not fully charge or don't have the charger, you're SOL.

As for cleaning, I just wipe my Hitachi clean with toy cleaner and paper towels, as I don’t want to get the button area wet. Is it easier to clean the other 2 massagers? These massagers are all pretty big, so storing them discreetly is not easy – I keep my Hitachi in a pouch under the bed, but the Ideal might need to be plugged in while stored to charge, and the My Miracle is curved, so it might not store easily. I want to know.

I clean the Ideal pretty much the same way. I either use wipes or I spray the toy cleaner onto the paper towel, wipe it on, then wipe it off with a dry paper towel. I was afraid of accidentally spraying toy cleaner somewhere it wasn't supposed to go, and it seems to work so far.

My answer to storage? For now, I leave it on my desk, where it charges when not in use. As far as the people I live with know, it's a back massager. I made a big deal of showing it to everyone when it came in and gushing about how I could use it on my OWN back when I had a flare-up, instead of having to beg someone to work on my back, or springing for a trip to the therapist. They know I'm discrete about making sure my toys are always out of site, so if it lives on my desk, it's not a toy. ^__^ Gotta love logic.

When it's time to actually take it off my desk and not have it within reach at a moment's notice, it actually fits quite well in the FYN Foot-Long, with its charger, with room to spare, strangely-shaped handle and all. Actually (I'm sitting here wiggling it around in the foot long in my lap) you could probably fit 2 Ideals, minus chargers, in here together. I don't have any attachments, but it looks like I could easily pack Ideal, charger, and an attachment in here together without much trouble.

I did vote for the Hitachi, as it has been around forever and girls seem to love it but I don't have it as yet. On MY Miracle Massager I also have not used but I have overall been disappointed by toys from California Exotics. Yes, opinionated but that has been my experience.

The Ideal was what I ended up purchasing. For me, the ergonomics were what decided me. For both sensual and massage purposes, I needed something that wouldn't cause more strain. So, for someone with similar issues, the Ideal is, well, ideal. But if you don't need that funny-shaped handle, the Hitachi will never run out of battery power at a bad time, and may be stronger (I haven't tried the Hitachi, so I can't tell for sure). Honestly, the My Miracle massager never made it to my short list.

Hitachi is a classic. (If Fairy were on here, I would champion it). CalEx tends to make toys that, while at friendly price points, tend to deserve those price points.
