I don't know how many of you read my recent review on the Nexus G-Rider (link), but I wanted to make sure some info from it got to more contributors.
1. Some companies include batteries in their toys when they are purchased. Often these batteries, are low quality. This is important to know when doing reviews. As I experienced while doing the above review, using your own batteries can make a HUGE difference. Make sure to do this to give the most fair and accurate review.
2. I use a batch of batteries that I just popped in and out of toys while reviewing. I make sure to replace these every so often also because even using a battery for a short time to access noise, strength etc. will deplete the battery power some and might skew a review negatively.
BE SURE TO USE FRESH BATTERIES AND YOUR OWN IF THEY WERE PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER!

I got my Sinfonia with dead batteries. It made me a sad panda I fixed it, though! Hooray for Duracell!
Oh, and for the problem of depleting battery power, leaving them in toys uses some of the power, like leaving batteries in a remote control. They can corrode as well if you leave them in too long and ruin the toy. Make sure you're taking the batteries out of your toys if you aren't planning to use them again for a while.

Also a great tip! Yes, very important to take them out. I only leave batteries in toys I use a few times a week. I take them out if I won't be.
OMG...if i had batteries in every single one of my toys that required them it would take like 100 or more!
The girls at my local toy shop always tell me to use cheap batteries because they say that they help prolong the life of the toy and that batteries like duracell and energizer aren't good to use, anyone know if there is any truth to this?

were they trying to push old batteries?
The only suggestion I have for batteries and sex toys is that rechargeable batteries are a boon.

The only problem with rechargeables is that some sex toy battery compartments are a bit too snug for them, while alkaline batteries will fit just fine.

I have been told the same thing but have used rechargables and other brand name batteries with no problems. So I have no idea if there is any truth to it seeing as my toys have been doing quite well depsite their very well intended advice.
That is an interesting point about using other trusted brands of batteries for review purposes. I personally have never had to deal with that situation, since I do not use vibrators, however anytime I buy anything that comes with batteries I throw them in a drawer and use my preferred usual batteries.

I agree, sometimes generic brands might not perform that well. I would suggest sticking with brands like duracell, rayovac, and energizer.

Well yes...of course less power will prolong the motor. But who wants mediocre when they can have YOWZAH?!?!

I don't know, Alicia. My Man works with power supplies, including batteries, and he swears by Duracells and they are the only batteries we buy. He thinks the more expensive batteries not only last longer, but have more power when first opened. He also doesn't like us to use rechargeable batteries in our sex toys, because he says that they actually provide less power than disposable. (This evidently has something to do with amperage or voltage or some such engineering.) I hate to throw bats away, but I need all the power I can get in my toys. We save the rechargeable for things where strong, lasting power are not as.... important......like flashlights, remotes, children's toys etc.
