Just wondering because I will be traveling soon, and I want to know if it worth grabbing a smaller toy that is easier to hide.
Is it worth buying a smaller vibe? Are they good?

It depends on preference. I actually like smaller sizes (1"-1.5" in diameter), but for some people that wouldn't be sufficient. If you like toys with more girth, then buying something small probably wouldn't be worth it. If you've never tried a smaller toy, it's worth a shot to see if it works for you.

It depends on what a persons personal preference was and what they were using it for. Also, how a person's anatomy was if they were using it internally.

I like my smaller vibrator. I find it to be a very useful warm up tool even on the days when it doesn't get me completely to an O. It's also more discreet and better for travel than larger ones.

If it's for clit stim exclusively, the size usually doesn't matter too much unless you need a lot of power - very few small vibes are strong enough for the power queens. If you want it for penetration, then that's all a matter of preference.
I actually tend to enjoy toys on the small side, so for me little vibes are usually quite worth it, especially if I intend to take it on a trip.

I have a smaller vibe, we only use it for anal (usually). It's just too small to be very stimulating vaginally and not strong enough to do much clitorally. I love it, but I only need one.
