UPDATE! the new re-release of MiMi!

Contributor: lalapetitee lalapetitee
I contacted Eden to ask when the new 3 buttoned MiMi will be here. I got a response that it should be here towards the end of the month. I am not sure if it will have its own product page or if we have to order thru the current product. I will update this as soon as I hear back.

I am excited to see if they have fixed the skin issue or the buttons on it. I am also wondering will having the seperate functions button make it easier to use but I do know I want it.

From what I'm hearing they just added the extra button. They probably will still be hard to push so don't feel bad.

From what I've heard about the Uma the buttons are still hard to press, and Uma has the same buttons as the original MiMi according to Kayla's review, so if I had to hazard a guess the new MiMi will have the same buttons. I probably won't upgrade, but I may bite the bullet if there's an otherwise notable improvement.

That's very true. As long as I can turn it on I don't mind hard buttons. I usually put it on the setting I like and leave it anyways.

I never bought the original, so I guess I'll wait and see how the reviews are on the new one! Exciting news!

I have no issues for the original version. The only thing that would tempt to get a new one is if someone said it was stronger.

I might buy a new one, and keep it in whichever dorm room my current isn't in. Having a separate button for patterns sounds great to me, I'm tired of going from high speed to pattern without meaning to.

That's mostly why I haven't cashed my points in yet. Otherwise I would love that toy right now :-(

WAIT. There's going to be a new one?!?!?? Well, I'm really glad I've been avoiding buying the current Mimi. Although I just ran a search, and it's going to go up in price by $10?...maybe I do wanna buy the current version. Hmm. Well, we'll see how things go.

I have the old MiMi and the Uma, who has the new kind of buttons that the new MiMi will have.

The middle button is even hard for ME to press, though I'm hoping it will break in a little.

At first I was a little disappointed that I got the old one before the new one came out, but aside from novelty value, I don't think it would be a huge difference to me. I don't really use the pulse patterns, and you still have to cycle through all of them, just with a different button.

If you like patterns, the ability to change the pattern's intensity IS nice, but it's not that important to me, personally. Old MiMi pretty much has the patterns set on high, which is what I'd want, anyway.

I just thought about that. I think I may just stick to getting the old or current version.

For $10 bucks you would think you would get better buttons or atleast new colors :-( just gonna get the current version.

... Well, now I'm actually happy that I procrastinated! I've been wanting a MiMi for a while, but kept putting it off. It'll be neat to see if how the new one fares, though I'll be reading the reviews before trying it myself.

Depending on what my points look like tomorrow I may cave and buy the Uma and current MiMi or I may just get Uma til I read the reviews on the new MiMi. Not sure yet but this is killing my head :-(

Also, the Uma only has 5 vibration levels (not the 7 as reported) - and I'd guess this was the case with the new MiMi, too.

I don't know if the new MiMi will have Uma's motor, but it's not significantly stronger - it's hard for me to tell the difference.

I have read that in the reviews. Hmmm may just get the current. I have a few more days to decide. I'm short a few points anyhow.

Gah, I really can't decide whether to just bite the bullet and get the Mimi now, or wait until the new one comes out. I rarely use patterns anyway, but maybe I would like them?
