I very rarely use toys in the shower or bath, but I love waterproof cause it makes cleaning easier. I prefer to wash my toys (thoroughly) with running water and soap, than to just use wipes or similar.

It's not the only deciding factor, for me. If each toy was exactly the same with the only difference being their waterproofness, of course I'd go with the waterproof. It's just a nifty bonus, but not absolutely necessary.

I always try to find toys that are at least splashproof - waterproof is much better. I love playing in the shower!

If they're similar in most ways (material, strength, batteries, etc) and it's a deciding factor - I would always pick waterproof. I'm pretty accident prone so an additional safeguard is a good thing.
