cant compare the two but I have the fairy and its great, got it on sale for around $35

I confess I don't have the fairy. I was concerned it would be too buzzy. I love my hitachi!!!! I can also recomend the Inspire. It has a single button you press and hold till the vibes reach your desired level of power. I really like having so much control over the power. I also like that the head is detachable and silicone for washing. But I still use my hitachi frequently. I rotate between the hitachi, the 2 speed wahl and the Inspire. They all have pros and cons.

i bought the hitachi on sale for $25(with a coupon) but its going to a relative who wants something that doesn't scream 'VIBRATOR!!!" I wonder if she knows that you need an attachment to use it to frig or you'll lose all feeling in your cooch!

I guess I'd prefer the Hitachi because I could always get a switch-dimmer to control the power if it was too strong. Plus, it's a total classic.

I had a Hitachi for 5 years. It has much deeper vibrations than the Fairy, but numbed me quickly.
When I use the Fairy and apply pressure, it feels like the vibrations weaken which means I can use it longer, but it also numbs me after awhile too.

I wonder what makes all different on what is more powerful? IMO opinion, Hitachi is very much overrated. It's powerful, but no more powerful than any other plug in wand I have had. Rechargeable wands are different because they are battery operated. Plug in toys will always be more powerful than batteries. Hitachi is huge. There is no way to work around it's size. The head is so big that it doesn't just vibrate your clit...it vibrates your whole crotch. The fairy has a smaller head, so it can focus on your clit much easier than the Hitachi can. So, even if the Hitachi is more powerful...the vibrations aren't going to localize where you need them to. Hence, your experience with the fairy will likely be better if you like direct stimulation. If you like board and indirect stimulation...Hitachi will be better.

We have a hitachi and love it. I voted fairy, because one, it has the dial control, two, it's a few bucks cheaper and three, it's in stock. But after reading the posts, I'd now vote hitachi because of the durability factor. I like the look better, too. The hitachi is also a non-sexual massager and looks less like an obvious sex toy. We have a variable speed controller for our hitachi, which is kind of...magic. It does kind of suck that after all this time, hitachi hasn't made one with a built-in variable speed control...
