Some days I can't believe I am already creeping up on my mid-twenties because of all the new responsibilities I got after graduating college a year ago. Being more on my own makes me feel older. But then again, sometimes I still feel even younger.

I feel a lot younger than I am. When I tell people that my husband and I have been together almost 18 years, I think, "Wow! Has it really been that long? It just seems like yesterday that I met him for the first time."

Or when I tell my son, "Hey this song was popular when I was ___ years younger than you are right now." I am surprised and somewhat shocked that I am the age I am because I don't feel it.

It depends? Most days I feel younger than I am. Some days it just doesn't seem like I'm in my forties. But then days like today, where both kids woke up in the middle of the night and the dog had a bad dream and kicked me in bed for 5 minutes, I feel ancient. I need a nap.

After all I've been through, I feel old and dumpy. I'm only 33 but I feel 50 most of the time. Not an active and lively 50, but a 'rode hard and put away wet' 50 of a hard life. I think my marriage aged me.

I've always, always felt more mature than everyone else my age. It's still a problem I have and can't seem to make friends with people my age. I've never been into drinking, partying, skipping class, etc. So in that way I feel way old. But I really don't think I'm ready to be halfway through my 20s and nearing 30 so soon! I am, geez! I don't feel like I've done enough or accomplished what I need to to be that old already. I definitely feel stuck in my early 20s (about 20-22) right now.

Interesting question. I make a distinction between the way I feel mentally, and the way I feel physically. Mentally, I feel quite young, and I hope I always will. Physically, I feel older than I am, but only because I've just joined a gym, and my muscles are killing me.

I am still not on my own and very much am dependent on my dad despite going to be hitting my mid 20s, but i feel 40 sometimes with how much I worry about things and how I have to help him. Body aches all the time, libido practically nonexistent half the time, and too many responsibilities to count.

I feel my age, but I am one of those people who is constantly thinking about bigger things. I can't understand how some people can engage in such silly (to me anyways) activities and just let life fly right by them.

(Just want to clear up that I love having fun, but enjoy life and take advantage of it, ya know?)

I will be 23 in May, but I feel a lot more mature than most my age.

I.E Jersey Shore-esque club hopping hoochies, etc.

So I guess that means I feel older then? I'm a little confused. LOL

Despite the fact that I live on my own, have been married and divorced, and have a great career, I still feel about 19 most of the time. It's like my brain just stopped there age-wise. It doesn't bother me but I am sometimes surprised when people see and accept me as an adult and a professional. Probably because I don't see myself that way - I'm actually 28.

I feel older, but I got married young (22). Also, I've had 2 knee surgeries and since have developed mass amounts of arthritis (knees, hands and wrists mostly). It doesn't help that all my friends are older than me and always have been. I was an only child until 2 years ago (adoption) and spent most of my formative years hanging out with my parents' friends.

I feel older only because my ex called off our wedding and broke up with me about a week before Valentines day and my birthday (we were supposed to get married June 2010). I was only turning 20, but I had already planned everything and I seriously had a nervous breakdown on my birthday. I made myself believe the world was over and that I would never find anyone else, which I know now is not true. I'm glad in the long run that things happened that way, but it still hurt when it happened and especially right before my birthday.

I feel a lot younger, but not in a good way. I usually kind of feel immature and weak. I don't have a lot of self-confidence, but I don't have a lot of responsibility, either. I have a lot of social anxiety and things that make it difficult for me to get out and do the things someone my age should be doing like getting a job, a car, a license...yeah, it kinda sucks.

I'm getting close to 30. But almost nothing has changed in a decade. My body looks pretty much the same. So does my lifestyle. I have the same partner I had at 20. I've taken fairly good care of myself in some ways, especially in diet and avoiding the sun. I get into "youthful" things. A younger friend recently told me he thought I was around 20, but thought something wasn't "quite right"--I seem really into things that were popular when he was really small.

But...I am incredibly inactive and I'm positive that is taking a toll on my body in some ways. Also, my skin seems to not heal as well. I have a lot more aches and pains. My libido isn't so great anymore--but that is probably more to do with a long swim in depression. I have gray hairs. My ability to learn new things has decreased quite a lot, but some of that is due to lifestyle, I'm sure--I know people twice my age who are way sharper because their minds are more active.

I think age is not something to be taken too seriously. I get sad because my fairly young mom thinks of herself as old. I think she is aging herself faster.

Sometimes I feel older and others younger.
Being in school with people nearly 10 years younger than me makes me feel old when I'm with them but being in college makes me feel younger at times.
My lack of sleep tends to make me feel older.
The fact that I look considerably younger and have gotten IDed even for lottery tickets in the last year or two makes me feel younger.
The looks that I get when I'm with my son from people who don't realize how old I am and assume that I'm maybe 20 with a 5 year old son (Who's really tall for his age and probably looks more like 6 to most people.) make me feel younger but I don't appreciate those moments.

It depends. I've got some arthritis issues that definitely make me feel a lot older than my 23 years. Being married makes me feel a little older, but that's because I'm still mentally transitioning to the realization that I'm actually an adult. But even tho my husband and I are saving for a house while living with my mom, living there makes me feel a bit younger than I am.

Most people say I look younger than I am - and sometimes I feel younger, especially when I'm doing something physical like lifting weights, hiking, biking or golf. But getting up the next morning after a hard workout, I feel pretty old!
