Condoms, the pill (Trinessa) and pulling out all in one lol. I actually heard a ton of bad reviews for Trinessa online, saying it gives you crazy mood swings, weight gain, etc. but I've been on it for over four months and haven't had any side effects...

My girlfriend uses the ring and has been for quite a number of years.
The only down fall to that is being better than average you tend to feel the ring while thrusting!

Having struggled with several pills, and injections following the birth of our daughter tried the coil, which worked brilliantly. Easily removed when we then decided to have our son, and went back to the coil after he was born. However recently I have had problems with an infection which ended in a visit to hospital. Have decided to stick to the coil for the time being but was a scary time! x x x

I have an IUD, but I don't use it as an excuse to not use condoms.

After having my period for 5 months straight when I was 17 my mom finally agreed to let me take a birth control pill. I started off with Loestrin 24 Fe but I still had my period twice a month and it cost $60 even with insurance. After 6 months with that I switched to Sprintec which is a god send. Not only is my period only just 5 days a month but it's also cleared up my skin and helped me slim down. Plus I pay like $15 for a three month supply.

I also use condoms because in high school a very scary 70-year-old lady from a near by clinic came into health class with a slide show of STD filled vaginas and penises. I swear it's like she's always there whenever I'm about to have sex, just being all "Hey" "Remeber that slide show? Put a condom on."

I use condoms and ortho tri-cyclen lo, but I am on that for PCOS moreso than for birth control. I tried the depo shot when I was younger (before I developed PCOS too), and had so many problems with it and weight gain, migraines, etc. Tried that for a year, took almost another full year before I got a period again it messed up my system so bad.

My doctor prescribed me the pill Generess Fe. I haven't had a period yet so I haven't been able to start taking it, but I'll check in after I do!

Is Mirena the one with hormones? An IUD seems really awesome, but I'd be scared to have something like that inside me all the time.

I have been on the shot in the past and it did make me gain weight as well as a few of my friends. It wasn't expensive and it was convenient but 30 or so lbs I gained have been hard to get rid of. Right now I'm on the pill but I no longer have health insurance so I am back to shopping around for something new.

I switched my birth control pills at one point and I bled for two months straight! It was horrible! I changed back to my old ones and now everything is fine. But a period to last that long....boo

Oh gosh, that's crazy! I just started taking my pill (Generess Fe), and my period is definitely longer than usual. I usually have my period for 5 or 6 days, and I'm currently on my 8th day. I'm hoping that this is just my body adjusting since this is the first time I've ever been on a hormonal birth control. The good news is I assume it's working since I'm having certain side effects (like breast tenderness).

Could you just have countered it by taking calcium supplements?

I just got off of Nuva Ring...It gave me blood clots in my eyes, and a side effect can actually be loss of sight! Not worth it.

I can't imagine gaining that much with birth control. I definitely don't need the extra weight!

I've also tried 3 pills and Nuva Ring. The pills made me throw up, and the Nuva Ring caused blood clots in my eyes. Might have to consider Ortho.

We use condoms and birth control to be extra safe. I love birth control, but it makes me really nauseous some mornings and it really helps with my acne too

We use condoms and the pill (Aviane). I like using more than one method, for the peace of mind.

I'm on the pill, though currently I'm not having any types of sex that could actually result in pregnancy.
