Ibuprofin is usually my go-to, especially if I'm at work. I'll also masturbate if I feel up to it, which seems to help, and I'd love to get a heating pad for the winter months. I also find that laying on my belly on top of my body pillow helps lessen the pain, so if I'm at home I like to lay on it until the aforementioned pills kick in.

When I was on the pill, I used to have constant heinous cramps. Now that it's been over a year since being off the pill, I still get bad cramps but way less often. Now I just take over-the-counter pills and/or masturbate until the pain subsides. That usually does it.

I also noticed a decrease in the severity of my cramps after switching from tampons to a menstrual cup.

I take the pain and complain. I also try to go walking or swimming to help relieve the pain.

Things have been better for me since I went on the NuvaRing, but I used to frequently feel like I was being filleted with a very dull knife (pain so bad it made me dizzy and it was hard to do anything but curl up in bed). I can't take NSAIDs, so that would leave me with only Tylenol (or when I was really desperate, the dwindling stash of Tylenol w/codeine that I have from throwing my back out). I would sometimes get those heating packs that you stick onto your body, but one thing that sometimes would help would be (slowly, gently) masturbating. I would generally have to start with the mental/fantasy aspect first to get my body primed, but successfully achieving orgasm is an amazing pain reliever.

I hate using pain killers. I usually just fill up my hot water bottle and make a tea and cuddle up on the couch with my cat.

Just a little bit of caffeine helps some too, but you have to keep it up or else the blood vessels will constrict after it has worn out

That is very, very interesting, Kendra! Good to know for someone who has been battling endo since I was 17, and I have a very similar story.

I take Midol but it doesn't work. Mostly I grin and bare it but light exercise works sometimes. I don't drink coffee, eat chocolate, or ingest anything with caffeine because it makes cramps worse

I too have/had dysmenorrhea, over the years my ob has prescribed different types of birth control to lessen the cramps. I've tried almost every type of the pill, the ring, depo, and now Mirena.

I have to say I like the Mirena the best, because I only get light periods if I get it at all and the cramps are very minimal.

Depo was good for dealing with cramps but I gained a ton of weight
