I can cum from penetration alone, but it's usually anal penetration. I had to teach myself to cum during vaginal. The whole key to cuming is RELAXING! It's harder than you think to actually get your mind in a state or relaxation that allows you to only enjoy what is happening and not think about whatever issues are weighting in on you or how much you have to do this when you are done. I can, but it takes a lot of time. Also, I prefer the feeling of the orgasm I get from clit stimulation with penetration over penetration alone, so the extra work to get a penetration only climax doesn't seem worth it.
