The age of the gyno makes no difference to me as long as they know what they're doing and they have a great bedside manner.

I think younger doctors are more willing to try new procedures, but I prefer male gynos who are around "my dad's age". I just feel better in their care, more like a human being and less like a sex object. (I refuse to go to female gynos.)

For the most part it doesn't matter, because if I am in serous need of medical attention whoever gets to me first will be perfectly fine! But I usually feel more comfortable with an middle aged female Dr. I don't know why. All of my Dr's are middle aged females including the pediatrician and my hubbies GP. I have had male Dr's and younger Dr's, but I wasn't comfortable with my health with them. All that matters to me when picking a Dr I have to actually talk to is that I am comfortable with them.

Age is just a number...within reason. If I can't get in with a female GYN, I can tolerate a male one... But if he's too old, I start picturing concepts of female sexuality (and men's contempt for it) from the 1900s!

Age doesn't matter to me. I agree with others in saying that I need to feel comfortable with them.

My gyno is the best! He slowly transgendered to a woman over the years, he is such a caring doctor! Older than me but open minded.

i think gender is more important than age. but i guess age could change what you feel comfortable saying...

I definitely don't want to go to a doctor who is so old they're outdated in their practices. But other than that, I couldn't care less.

I don't care how old they are, but I have to have a woman, I have never seen a man gyno

Younger doctors as a whole appeal to me, simply because they tend to keep up on trends in medicine and advances in science

age doesnt matter but gender does. I feel so much more comfortable with a woman. They have the same body parts so they know how to be more gentle (my opinion).

Personality and knowledge are much more important than age.

Their age doesn't matter to me really, I care more about their personality, and knowledge.

I prefer someone in the middle. The younger ones seem a little more open (both to different treatments/methods and are also friendlier), but someone a little on the older side would have more experience. My ob-gyn is middle aged (in the sense that her kids are both young and old enough to be teenagers), and I love her to death.

A younger gynecologist was way more open to giving me Paragard despite me being young and without kids, but I don't think I would say I would always prefer someone younger. I just want someone who makes me comfortable and knows what they are doing to keep me safe.

I prefer a female but age doesn't matter. I have always had older until my last visit. I had a younger lady who was doing her internship or whatever they call it so she was much younger than what I was used to. I was a bit uncomfortable at first but I found it very easy to talk to her.

Age isn't a big deal to me. Personality is a big thing for me! I would be most unhappy with a Gyn, who was harsh or snippy or had the bedside manner of a q-tip.
