Have you ever been to Planned Parenthood

Contributor: PDXlady PDXlady
Planned Parenthood has been in the news a lot with the recent defunding by the Susan G. Komen foundation. It just made me curious about the amount of women using their services. I personally think they're an amazing organization and I have used quite a few of their services.

I have in the past when I couldn't afford birth control. It was a good experience and I would go back if I needed to.

I love my PP office. The doctor there is amazing and has taken great care of me. When I miscarried, he was there for me every step of the way.

I went to planned parenthood when I didn't have health insurance and needed my birth control refilled. Most doctors offices wouldn't even see me (or wouldn't see me without two recent paystubs) and if a doctor would see me it was a crazy long wait. With PP I was in the office within a week and it was affordable.

i go for my yearly check up there because it is much easier to get an appointment there than my local gynecologist and i dont have to worry about slut shaming there.

I haven't, but am not opposed to it.

I actually went in there once, but it turned out I was better off, monetarily, making an appointment with a doctor my insurance covered.

I might not have insurance in a few years, so it'd certainly be an option then.

I go there to get pills and a yearly exam because it's cheaper than my insurance.

I am a big supporter of planned parenthood, and have been myself when insurance wasn't available.

Did you hear? Komen reinstated their funding to planned parenthood!

I haven't been but if I were ever without insurance I see no reason why I wouldn't go.

The closest Planned Parenthood for me is about an 1.5 hours (Fuck you, state defunding!), so I go my local health department instead. When I move back to the city, I'll probably go there.

Just so you know, Susan G. Kolman has retracted their intent not to fund Planned Parenthood. This Press Release should help you.

I went to PP, after not trusting the spermicidal foam I was using when I became first sexually active. They were very helpful.

My two older daughters have also used their services, as I recommended them when they became sexually active.

They are a great service, even when I had to take two Els and a bus to get there.

The first time I went I was 15 and they were great. The secondtime I went I was 19 and in a different state. They were so rude and a bit confusing. The nurse (if that's what she was she was in scrubs) pretty much said so what you think your pregnant do you want to take one of our tests here it's $25 and you need an appointment. My husband and I looked at eachother and walked out. we got married a week later and I was on his health insurance.

I've never been because I've always been lucky enough to have insurance, but it's an organization that I fully support.
