I rarely use tampons and my boyfriend thinks this is not normal. According to him, every other woman he has dated always uses tampons. Am I freak or what?

I answered "I always wear tampons while on my period, unless I'm sleeping". But, I actually do wear them while sleeping . I don't wanna risk getting anything messy!

I switched to the Lunette and Diva Cups because tampons were giving me yeast infections. So I never use them.

I use menstrual cups instead. They're much much better for your body and the environment.

I'm weird about tampons and very specific about when I like to wear them. Only sometimes on the second day of my period, after cramps are gone and my flow is heaviest.
I want to start using the menstrual cups and washable pads rather than disposable stuff though. I figure I'm most likely going to need these things for 30-ish more years, so that adds up to a lot of money spent and waste produced.

I always wear tampons but I don' think it's weird that you don't. Everyone is different and will like different methods.

I wear tampons only when my flow is on the heavy side because otherwise, they scratch-owww. They're sure convenient when I want to go swimming or I'm going to be busy at work and can't check my pad every 2 hours (I'll often use a tampon AND a pad.) I tried that Diva Cup and it leaked on me. :-(

You aren't a freak. I didn't wear them for awhile too. I like to do a mix of both. I just hate the stinky pad smell so I do them only on light days.

I'm trying to stray away from tampons to be more environmentally aware, and also because of that recent tampon mold scare.....I want to buy some cloth pads! It's just that tampons are so convenient and effective but SO WASTEFUL!

I use a Diva Cup, so I'm probably even farther out on what he'd consider to be the "freak" scale. I feel like how people handle their periods is their own business.

I hate tampons with a burning passion. I can't wear one for more than an hour or two before it starts to actually hurt. I've only used them for swimming once or twice, and mostly I just have a few around for friends (that I got in free sample packs).
