I could not believe it when I came across this weird product...an artificial hymen shaped and colored to look like a real bloody hymen. I guess so you can fool a new partner?!?
I have never lied to a partner about my non-virginity etc and can't even conceive wanting to...but for the rest of you...what do you think about this?
"Sex-toy company Gigimodo created this "artificial hymen" --a plastic bag filled with... oh well, fake blood-- for those of you who either need to lie about being a virgin, or want to re-live losing their maidenly flower. Fake blood in our chocha? No thanks..."
OMG I HAVE TO GET THIS!!! Just kidding. This thing sort of freaks me out. Maybe its marketed for ladies who are religious and want to pretend on their wedding night that they havent screwed with the whole village before they married...Not that I have anything against saving sex for marriage or vice versa
This could actually save the lives of women from cultural backgrounds which demand that women be virgins on their wedding night. I wonder what happens to the poor women in those cultures who do not actually bleed the first time they have sex. Not all women do bleed their first time . . . Yet they are expected to produce a bloody bed sheet on their wedding night or the entire family is dishonored.
This looks very scary. I can see how some might need it if their beliefs require that they be a virgin before marriage though. I am still VERY creeped out by the picture of this...

Yeah, but the really creepy part is that literally there are women for whom this would be life saving.
its insane what they do to those girls, i saw a documentary in which the town midwife would sew up the majority of the woman's vagina after each use, it was the husbands job to open it each time (which couldn't have been very frequently) with a random convenient sharp object. CCCRRRRAAAZZZZYYYYY stuff, i just gave my self chills!

There are plenty of methods for bloodying the sheet. In those types of cultures, it's common practice for the bride to soak a sponge in animal blood and jam it up there, just in case. *shudder*

That's positively horrifying . . . That just makes the above "artificial hymen" seem a bit appealing, by comparison.
My biggest concern (not only, just biggest) would be what exactly is that 'fake blood' made of. Most fake blood has some kind of sugar in it. Hello yeast infection!

I'm in a Medical sociology class and we had a whole unit on that kind of stuff. Maybe I'll write on EdenCafe about it.

Wow, that's a huge health sacrifice. I'm glad I live here.

ACK!
Yes it could probably save the lives of women. For that, it is good.
What the heck?? That is insane. So, it's intended to be put up there and then come out during sex? If so um..I don't remember anything like that coming out EVER.
If I was from one of those cultures that they need to provide a bloody sheet on their wedding night I'd have been screwed. I never had anything like that happen. I didn't bleed my first time and I never bled when doing anything else sexually before I lost my virginity either.
I have no real clue what to say to this... I'm too busy thinking of those blood packs like you put in your mouth to squeeze to act like you're spitting up/drooling blood.
Ime sorry if you have to lie about being a virgin thats just wrong. I would tell my partners if I was a virgin or not, if I cant be honest I dont think I would want to date him.
