Both the silver balls and the glass ones are perfectly functional. The vibrating ones are not meant for your purpose, and the spiked ones don't look like the best choice, in my humble opinion. You might want to consider the Ami if your budget allows. It's a great set for exercise purposes.

I would also recommend something with a retrieval cord, personally I am not the type for ones without. I second the Ami, or some plastic duotone balls.

I have, and love, the SinFive Emigi, so I can wholeheartedly recommend that! Cleaning is easy, it's small, and it has a string for easy retrieval.

I've heard that glass ones can get microfractures when they hit each other, so I'd avoid those for sure. I'm saving up to get Lelo's balls, all the reviews are great, plus you can switch them out for different weights! Want want want.

The silver balls are the classic basic balls, so I'd go with those.

If it is your first set of balls the silver ones might be a bit 'advanced'... I have a pair of glass ones and a pair of metal ones, I started with the glass and eventually began using the smaller metal ones once I had been using the glass ones for a while.

I picked the glass ones. Silver would have been my second choice.
They have higher ratings, and I don't think vibrations are what I'd be looking for in vaginal balls.

I have a SinFive Emigi that I love but I voted for the Crystal balls because they're smooth and don't vibrate and I thought they were kinda pretty. For an exercise toy I think the SinFive Emigi is the best that I've tried.

I like the one's that Fun Factory makes, (Smart Balls) They are good for beginners and are attached ones instead of two separate balls. They do the job well, and have a string making them easier to use than individual, unattached, super slippery glass or silver balls. So, if you're unfamiliar with this kind of product, they might be a good option.

The crystal balls are really pretty but I prefer having a cord to help take them out.

I like the crystal ones. If you're worried about how to remove them I think you could just put them in a condom for easy removel. . . not that I ever tried it but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I agree with others that these may not be the best for beginners. Before you've worked your kegels, it can be tough to expel one of those balls. There are multiple varieties that have balls in a silicone sheath, with a tail to let you pull them out, and I'd go with one of those. If you pick one that lets you choose between having one ball or two in at the same time, that's even better.

I haven't had any balls but I'm looking into Lelo's and Sin fives. Right now I use the gynaflex b/c it was recommended in a book I read, but you have to consciously work them. I like the concept of the balls doing the work for me, and plan on getting one of the two I mentioned above soon.

I'd actually recommend the SinFive Emigi most, but the silver balls after that. I'm always really anxious to give advise about using kegal exercisers though(when the goal is just to tighten the vagina, I'm totally down with the "longer and stronger orgasms" bit). So much of the rhetoric is deeply problematic, and intended to shame women (well, people with vaginas, but the kind of person doing the shaming does not generally acknowledge the existence of trans* people). So, y'know, get the SinFive Emigi because it'll make *you* feel awesome.
